I recently purchased this Dyson vacuum at an amazing deal! Originally 400 dollars, it was on sale for [$], AND I got an [$] dollar gift card, so essentially I paid 140 for it! My vacuum died out a few weeks ago, and I told myself I was not going to buy another cheap one. I lucked into this deal's timing! I I tried it out right away. The hardwood floor attachment is perfect! It is larger than the original carpet cleaning part. It has attachments for stairs and a bristle attachment, which I will be using to clean out my car. It is so lightweight and easy to maneuver. I have arthritis in my hands and arms, and this is the best vacuum I've used that doesn't hurt my hands. Love it!

I love my new dyson; but it is quite small so be ready for this if you buy it. If you have never used a dyson before and this is your first, it may SEEM at first that the vacuum isn't working well. However, it is important to note a few things: 1. If you have pets or if you are a hair shedder and you have been using other brands, Dyson will pick things up you had not imagined. On the carpet attachment, you will need to clean the roller as well as empty the basked frequently, especially on the f irst use. Don't freak out if it seems like it isn't working and you haven't finished a room. Clean your roller and empty the basket. 2. Remember, the carpet attachment is very small. It will work on large rooms but you will need to be patient with it. 3. This model is a beast on stairs. 4. This model does great with corners and tight spots. 5. The attachment for non carpeted floors works great 6. It is quite light and easy to use as a result. 7. The cord is shorter than I would prefer, HOWEVER, this is a small vacuum and that cannot be forgotten. Overall, I think it was a pretty good buy. If I had a house full of wall to wall carpeting, I would have to say I under-bought for my need. Because mine is mixed and because I have stairs, I think I picked exactly what I need to get the job done.

I purchased this vacuum because we have all hard floors with 3 rugs at entry doors and wanted an easy to handle, light-weight machine to clean both surfaces. The suction is O.K. not as good as I expected. The powerhead brush quits spinning anywhere from 20 - 30 times during a normal weekly vacuuming. If I lightly bump a wall or furniture leg or go from rug to hard surface floor or vice-versa, the power brush quits turning. I have to turn the power button off or remove the powerhead from the swe eper wand to restore the brush turning. Also, any hair or thread on the floor wraps around the powerbrush and has to be pulled off manually. It would be nice if the power cord were longer. The vacuum does not take bags and it has to be emptied often. I do not mind because it is very easy to remove the canister and empty it. I feel the vacuum is very overpriced. It is lightweight and easy to move and store. I like the feature that holds the wand/hose on the canister for storing.

I purchased my DC26 and it arrived very well packaged with good instructions. I have mostly hardwood floors and was so tired of lugging around heavy vacum. This vacum really leaves the floors clean with no sandy residue at all. However, I tried the turbine head. It worked fine the first time but when I tried it the next day it would not work. I called the company and got to speak to a customer service rep. She was very patient with me walked me through what she wanted me to do . She then procee ded to tell me they would send me a new head immediately. I received the head today which was about 4 days after my phone call. The new head works very well and I am very pleased with this vacum. It is nice to find a company that stands by its product.

machine blows out a lot of dust which bothers me; have to wear a dust mask when using vacuum. Otherwise powerful little machine, but limited use due to dust factor. Does not serve purpose of fast cleanup that we originally wanted.

Well, I must say I was skeptical. I wondered if I was throwing away money when I decided to purchase the DC26. Yes I read the reviews, but everyone was talking about how good it picked up pet hair. I don't have any pets. I do have a 3 story townhome, hardwood floors, one room carpeted and throw rugs throughout. My first reason for choosing the DC26 was portability. I needed something light enough for me to carry up and down 3 flights of stairs. Next, I wanted something that would help on the ha rdwood floors. Whlle supposedly easier to keep clean than carpeting, there is always that thin little residue of dust that is left behind and you have to mop the floor to get rid of it. Okay, I finally made the leap and I am delighted. This little fellow cleaned everything. What's more I was able to switch tools and keep moving. I vaccuumed the rugs, the hardwood floors, dusted the blinds and that hard to reach spot around my skylight. What a pleasure. I had to empty it 3 times for all the dust that was being picked up, but the house is really clean. And, I didn't have to pull out the mop, because it got up that fine dust. I gave it the finger test and it was gone. My only regret is that I didn't put off the purchase for another week so I could get the benefit of the extra 20% off that is being offered on Dyson vaccuums now. Well, you win some (a great vaccuum) and you lose some (that extra 20% off).

Bought myself a Mother's Day gift and I love it. Leaves my wood floors really clean--cleaner than they have ever been with a regualr vacuum. Gets up ALL the dirt. Easy to use and stow. Great product.

Got this machine as a closeout of 2011 models at local store. Had seen another Dyson canister model demonstrated on QVC and was impressed... so jumped on Dyson closeout when saw it avaiable at my pricepoint. Spent day vacuuming everything in sight...including my Springer Spaniel! ( guess I need to order the dog groomer attachment) I am impressed with the amount of stuff it picked up during first day of use. I love my Dyson canister!!!!

Since there is just one rug in my office but 4 dogs come to work with me every day, this is a perfect size. Small but mighty, the 4th time I vacumed this rug it was still pulling dirt out of it.

Thought my carpet was clean but once I used my dyson I found out how dirty my carpets really were(this was after using my old vacuum and then washing the carpets). I will never use anything other than a dyson from now on. Thanks
