Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice picture, Horrible sound We should have checked the reviews prior to purchasing. We bought this tv for a great sale price, but "you get what you pay for" is so true in this case. The tv was easy to set up, had a nice, clear picture, but terrible sound. The sound seemed to worsen the longer the tv was on. It sounds "tinny" and even often garbled to the point we couldn't figure out what was being said. It was worse when there was music playing. Some reviewers mentioned buying a sound bar or speakers. This is something we considered, but shouldn't sound that you can tolerate and understand be included? Having to add a sound bar adds to the overall price and therefore wouldn't be the bargain we thought we had. We returned the tv and spent a little more money for a better brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have got a good one. Bought this on sale at my local target for 230 and haven't had a problem. It has at least 3000 hours of use on it an no dead pixels or anything. 230 for a 40 inch led i cant complain. If your a snob about how smooth the transition needs to be and pixels and refresh rates and blah blah etc then spend more money and stop complaining. Cons for me is the sound quality. I listen to it pretty low anyway. usually a 6 out of 100 volume. Even at max it is not very loud though. Overall great value. Would buy another of it was on sale. I only buy true deals.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warning! Do Not Buy! We had the TV for only just over two months, then the screen went black. We could no longer return it to the store and so had to go through the manufacturer to return it because it was still under the manufacturers warranty. We jump through hoops and had to pay for shipping which came to 114 dollars. On top of that they will only send a refurbished TV 5-7 weeks after they receive the old one. Luckily we got the target protection plan and will be reimbursed from them for the shipping cost. If this one dies I will just cut my losses and get a better TV. So much for trying to save some money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good deal for the money We had been hoping to get a flat screen TV for some time and this was a great deal that I found online on Thanksgiving. It works great and was very easy to set up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted just over a year... DO NOT BUY ELEMENT! I bought the 46" version of this TV and it lasted 33 days past the year warranty. The LED screen went out and the cost to repair was way more than the TV itself. So the TV had sound, but no picture. I called Element to report (because in the owners manual the lamp supposedly lasts 50,000 hours) and Element basically said, "tough luck!" I just had to throw it away...never again will I buy a product from this company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I waited a year to be sure but: don't buy I pretty much doesn't this a year just to make sure that my experience lined up with some of the more positive reviews. After year I can honestly say with confidence stay away from element electronics these are some of the worst TVs anyone could ever hope to buy. you're not saving that much money you're better off buying a brand-name TV at that same price the biggest problem I had with did is resetting the firmware to turn off the auto motion this was a really and annoying featured it added nothing to any TV show or movie that I watch it's fine for game in what auto motion for for movies and TV shows make it very impossible to watch or enjoy and is no way to get rid of it or fix it so the best thing to do avoid

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shortest life ever..... We bought this TV in April 2014, and by the end of July 2014, the screen stopped working. When we attempted to have the TV fixed or replaced, we were told we had to pay for the shipping (upwards of $55) back to Element to have it replaced with a *REFURBISHED* television. If the new one doesn't work, why would a refurbished one do any better? STAY AWAY FROM ELEMENT!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short life span-not worth it! Less than a year after buying-picture is gone! Started to fade then gone! These have far too short a life span and faults! The specs they give are NOT what you get! Made in America? NOT! The back clearly states Made in China with subpar components. Not worth the $ to send for repair with same subpar components! Investing in another tv-don't waste your money- most of these tv's die out-Check the other reviews!
