Rated 4 out of 5 by from Had to get Another! I have owned this model for going on 8 years and loved it. I was heartbroken this weekend when I dropped the crockery piece in the sink while washing it and it broke. I was so glad to see it was still being made. I use my crockpot at least once a month. I work full-time and only prepare a meal once each weekend. I then cook enough for at least 16 meals. I like to have leftovers for a few dinners and then to freeze as lunches to bring to work. So, I need an oversized crockpot. While this crockpot doesn't have some of the bells and whistles available on other models -digital display, programming options, etc., it is huge. It has the size I need at a price I am willing to pay. It is easy to operate, works well and looks good. Because of the size and the weight of crockery, this is a heavy piece to wash, etc. Hence the mishap. I went 8 years without trouble and am hoping to get another 8 out of this one. Then I'll be ready to retire and won't need one so big!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Slow cooker Love this slow cooker. Especially love the size! Can easily fit in a whole chicken if needed! Love the stainless steel finish as it looks great sitting on my counter top while cooking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible, Disappointing I wanted this item due to the large size. However, the lid does not sit properly atop and allows gaps instead of sealing the cooking contents inside. I played around with the lid in a variety of manners, though every which way let the steam out. Horrible item and a great disappointment, especially with the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too hot to handle. We liked this at first because it's big, and we've never had one before, but after only 6 months of using it (always on the low setting), one of the plastic 'feet' on the bottom MELTED and burned our countertop. Luckily we were home and caught it! I don't want to think about what could have happened. Don't get this crock pot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Family size cooker I just cooked my first meal in this large cooker and it turned out fine. I was looking for a large crock pot that would hold a beef roast and a lot of vegetables with room to spare and this one is definitely large enough. I didn't know anything about this brand, but I was willing to try it even with the not-so-great reviews. It is very hard to find a slow cooker over 6 or 7 quarts. I have always stuck with the Rival Crock pot brand because they cook so well. I wish they had one as big as this one--I would have definitely bought it! I understand why some reviewers said this is too hot for a "slow cooker" as it does seem to be very hot on the low setting (I kept it on low all day and didn't even try the high setting). It will simmer really well, but I found I had to add a little liquid to it to keep the food from sticking along the sides. I think it would be better suited for a recipe that has more liquid in it as long as you don't try to fill it all the way up to the top.The glass lid doesn't fit perfectly on mine, but it didn't seem to be a problem with cooking. They should have made a rubber seal to fit around the edge of the glass lid.Overall, it's an o.k. cooker, nice stainless steel, and large enough for my needs.
