Eureka Boss® Smartvac® Vacuum is rated 4.1053 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Returned it! I think the vacuum cleans well, but has some very annoying features. The handle release pedal is very difficult to use. Instead of going straight down, it goes to the side. Every time the handle goes in the upright position, the vacuum automatically goes to the bare floor setting, so you have to bend over and and flip it back to carpet. I'm in good shape and I don't mind bending over, but it's just annoying. Pushing the vacuum isn't that difficult, but pulling back is ridiculous. The tools don't fit well and fell off while vacuuming, the hose kept falling off. I was shocked at the poor design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good suction, but heavy and loud!!! I was so hopeful about this vacuum because it got a very good Consumer Reports rating. It does have amazing suction. (In fact, you have to be careful not to let it suck up things that shouldn't be sucked up!) However, it is so heavy that it is really hard to move around. I am in terrific shape (if I do say so myself!). I generally enjoy vacuuming, but I find it difficult to push this around. Also, it's not as easy as my old Kenmore to switch from carpet to hard floor. I do love the long tube for doing stairs. Lastly, it is louder than any other vacuum I've ever had. It really bothers my daughters' ears. I wish I had tried it out before purchasing. I will keep it because of the annoyance of returning a machine of this size and because of the suction, but I'm not in love with it the way I had hoped to be.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eureka Vacuum has amazing suction This vacuum does what it was made to do, very well. Very good carpet suction and although reviews regarding tool suction were not as good, it seems to be very satisfactory for us (stairs, furniture). The unit is very heavy and somewhat hard to manuever/lift. There does not seem to be an option for vacuming the stairs with anything other than attachments as the suction brush is not activated from a position where you'd run the brush over stairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review of Eureka Boss SmartVac Vacuum So far I've had the vacuum for a two weeks and I've used it once. I was very happy with how easy it was to assemble. Also, I was impressed with the suction power of the vacuum; it's been a while since I've had a vacuum that was this powerful. I liked how it has a place to keep all the tools. It has a very long power cord, and a very long hose with a long extender so I barely have to unplug it when going to different rooms. Initially, when looking at the picture, I was skeptical that it maybe a bit flimsy, I was excited to see how solid and sturdy it is; it's definitely not a lightweight vacuum.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Great - But has a defect It actually worked great - the only problem was that the plastic on the handle was manufactured cheaply and did not line up so as my hand was pushing & pulling to clean the carpet it actually cut my hand it 2 places. I don't need to get cut and bleed while vacuuming my house. If the plastic would have formed together on the handle smoothly. This would not happen. I am 48 years old and in great shape. I am NOT fragile. The vacuum did work really great - I wish I could have kept it - but had to return

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Vacuum may be $150, but eats $400 worth of belts a year. I liked the online reviews and bought this vacuum. Never again. It literally eats a minimum of one belt a week, sometimes two. This raises the cost of owning this vacuum to $400 a year. I've already been through $80 worth of belts in the first two and a half months. This negates any positive attributes it has. Poor design, AVOID!!! Vacuum may be $150, but eats $400 worth of belts a year. Going through 1 belt a week, would never recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best vacuum ever! I've had this model vacuum for 15 years. My husband stepped on the release too hard and broke it. The repair shop wanted $125 to fix it, so it was time to buy a new one. I have two dogs with very thick coats, that that are seasonal shedders and this vacuum can handle all the hair without any problems. This vacuum lasted for 15 years, didn't loose suction, even after vacuuming pounds of dog hair over the years, and never had any mechanical problems until my husband broke it. It's a no frills great vacuum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best vacuum When I broke our old vacuum (through my own mistake and to no fault of the vacuum) it was not even a question that we would replace it with the exact same one. With bad allergies and a shedding dog in the house we need a vacuum that works really well and catches everything and this Eureka has for many years and more to come. I personally think bagged vacuums get the best clean and when you empty them you don't send the dirt flying around again like a canister. Plus it works seamlessly from our tile floors to the carpet.
