Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convenient for naps but beware of flat head if use too much! I bought this with the matching swing from Target with the buy a swing get a rock n play free deal so I was very excited to save so much $$. At full price, they are expensive for what they are. Like other reviewers, I thought this rocked itself: It doesn’t, so it doesn’t replace a swing (which we also had). However, it is very easy to rock with your foot and I quite often do this while I’m working online. The batteries power vibration only. My baby boy twin loved this and napped in it once he was a few weeks old until about 3 months. He finds vibration very soothing but his twin sister does not so it depends on the baby. At 4.5 months, despite being a preemie, he has mostly grown out of it. The angle does seem to help with reflux. But he now has a noticeable flat spot on his head that his sister, who napped in the swing, does not have. The doctor says it should even out but it is worth pointing out that its not good to have them nap in here too much. Definitely do not use to replace a crib as many people seem to be doing - the warnings are all over the packaging. It is very convenient to move around the house for naps if you want to keep baby close to you. I got the boppy headrests for the cribs and in hindsight I wish I’d put that in here as well. I don’t really understand the play part of the name since the baby doesn’t really play in here so for this reason I can't rate it very highly - it has limited use while babies are small and they grow out of it quickly. For the price I'd like to see something with more longevity.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Deluxe Newborn my a** Not worth the 107.99 this charged. Under impression this would rock itself. It doesn't. "Soothing" vibrations were not soothing to my baby at all. I was also informed that this in fact is not a safe alternative to my baby's bassinet. It is linked to SIDs, Torticollis and two different flat head syndromes. The seat is too deep for any newborn, and it limits their natural movement by being allowed to sleep in for prolonged periods. Only thing its good for is use as a cradle while visiting family. Most certainly not worth the 107 dollars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cozy for Short Naps I put my son in this when he was about 1 week old (and 7lb 5oz). It was too angled and caused his head to drop down during his sleep (increasing the risk of SIDS because of his passageways being constricted). We switched to using it for very short naps when I was wide awake for about a week. At 2 weeks old and just shy of 8lbs, the angle wasn't nearly as crippling. I'd wait before putting smaller babies in this. I love that it's the perfect height for sitting next to the couch. We originally got it for next to our bed, but our mattress is too high to make this have any value (we couldn't reach over and easily cater to baby in the night). All in all, the RNP seems quite cozy and I'm suspecting that he has a 3-4 more months of short naps in this little bassinet. Note: I don't recommend this as a primary bassinet for baby (and Fisher Price doesn't either).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok for a little while It is very soft, and the angle helps with reflux. My baby hated the vibrating but sometimes I could rock him to sleep in the middle of the night instead of having to pick him up. Buuuut, after a few months it started creaking when I rocked him so it defeated the purpose obviously. In hindsight I would buy something that rocks by itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect. If you're having a baby, buy this. It was perfect for our newborn boys to be elevated just enough to keep them safe & was perfect for naps early on. This is a great investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME!! I have had this item for a year now, and it is the most used baby Item I own. Please note that you should not use this as a place for your child to sleep, I learned that the hard way. my son developed torticollis, and his head was a bit flat. Kids are always best sleeping on a flat, firm surface. This is great for a place to set your child for a short time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice bedside Rocker This rocker was quick to build and quite soft. I love that it goes right beside my bed and I am able to get my daughter out of it quickly in the middle of the night. It is very light, which makes it easy to travel with, and folds up nicely for quick storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! This has been a lifesaver for us! My son was a monster about sleeping at night and would only sleep in his bassinet while he was swaddled, but then he was super wiggly and would break free of the swaddle and start screaming. This was the perfect chair for us. When he was smaller we would put a thick plush blanket in and then him on top of it so it really snuggled him and he started sleeping like a champ. He has been sleeping 6-8 hour stretches at night since he was a month old! He loves the position and comfort this chair provides him and the vibrations soothe him to sleep. The only downsides I can see with this product is when you want to use the rocking feature you literally have to sit there and rock it back and forth, its not just you touch it and it rocks for a while. Then ours also has started squeaking pretty loud when its rocked. Overall it is a great product and I highly recommend it!
