Rated 1 out of 5 by from After about 2 months leaks! I've had to return two of these now for the exact same issue. After about 2 months of use, the water tank leaks like a sieve. You fill it with water and it immediately begins leaking all over the counter. Until experiencing this MAJOR issue, it makes awesome hot coffee. But unfortunately, it's not functional with this defect. Also, the ergonomics of the unit is not real great. I could live with it that part though, but not the leaking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really Tried As another customer said, I really wanted to like this product. I loved that I did not have to have a Keurig and a 12 cup coffee maker on my counter. We drink a lot of coffee and hot drinks. I bought this coffee maker back in December and although right off the bat there were some adjustments, like water dripping on the counter due to the moisture put off by the steam. But hey what is a little water. Recently though it has begun to fail. It began taking up to 5 mins to make a single cup of coffee. So we cleaned the machine per instructions. Nothing changed, still took 5 minutes to make a cup, but patients is a virtue so we continued our use. Now this week, it stopped pumping water on the single serve side, not every time of course. So I cleaned it, during the cleaning process it had issues pumping water to the 12 cup side and the single cup side, so much so it took over 5 hours to rinse the machine thoroughly. I am sad to say I will be going back to having 2 machines on the counter and will not buy another Hamilton Beach.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Strike 2! I received my Flex Brew as a Christmas Gift and less than 3 months it started falling apart. The burner didn't work and looked like it was burnt. The lettering had all peeled off. I asked to return to manufacturer and they wanted to charge me. I was able to exchange for a new one at Target. Now less then 3 months I set my coffee up the night before and woke up to water all over the counter! I guess I am going back to my Mr. Coffee, glad I held onto it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AWFUL PERFORMANCE! Lasted 1 month....URGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bought this coffee maker for my husband for Father's Day. A couple of weeks ago the single side started to leak all over my counter with nothing in the coffee cup. . Now NO water comes through on the single side. It makes a lot of noise and steam but nothing else. No water comes through the K-cup at all. Tried to call customer service but they close at 4:30 EST. I am sooo disappointed in this product. The warranty says we are responsible for paying shipping to them and from them as well. This is very frustrating on a product only a month old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best we've ever had! Everything performs extremely well. Taste is fine--those with problems may not have cleaned it properly before using, or it may have been improved since then. Functions are easy to see, easy to set. It's the best coffee maker I can remember in MANY years and a great value. It does have a light-weight, possibly you could say "cheap" feel to the body, but can't find fault with the performance and price!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wanted to lIke this product...but just can't! Had machine for week now and will return today. Like most other reviews I also experienced the 'strong plastic smell/taste' and attempted to wash and clean with vinegar (per the instructions) the plastic parts of the unit, but the problem persists. So far I haven't experienced any other issues (slow brew time, malfunctioning single-brew, etc.) however seems many of those issues occur within 3-6 months. The fatal flaw is the horrible chemical smell/taste...I am afraid this can't be healthy at all! I wish another manufacturer would make the same (higher quality) product as the concept is a great idea! Will stick with two separate machines I guess...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved it! Then HATED it!!! Bought it with a gift card from our wedding. We thought it was a great idea and at the time it had good reviews online. Had it for 1 year and today it stopped working in the middle of a full pot brew. It had been acting up the past couple of weeks on the single-serve side of the machine, but today it just went kaput. The coffee machine I had before I got married (a simple Mr. Coffee which cost me like $20) lasted for years and I only got rid of it because my new wife and I were going to get something new. In hindsight, I should have kept the old Mr. Coffee and bought a separate single-serve machine.

I really loved this coffee machine when I first bought it to replace my ksinlge serve maker and regular coffee maker to save space in my kitchen. 6 months later i turned it on as usual and water came out the bottom of the coffee maker. I googled it and found a common problem for this coffee maker specifically. Considering its price do yourself a favor and just stick with a single serve AND a coffee maker if you would like both. Of course I didn't keep receipt so I'm not bothering with warranty.... Good luck!
