Rated 1 out of 5 by from This unit did not stay on after brewing was complete. This product already had some very bad reviews. I decided to take a chance due to the bargain price as advertised in hopes that I would not have any issues. I put it to test the same day received and noticed unit turned off after brew. I figured would be okay when set with timer next morning and as it turned out, unit just didn't stay on after brewing leaving me with cold coffee. I immediately returned for full refund to local store. That's too bad considering Hamilton Beach is usually very good brand. I don't recommend this model to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek, stylish, good value. I wish the clock had a backlight to make it easier to see, and there isn't a safety to keep the coffee from flowing if the carafe isn't seated all the way (which needs to have the handle completely to one side or the other). But, it brews quickly (about 8 minutes for an entire pot) & keeps the coffee piping hot. We do like the button for pouring (our old CM required us to partially unscrew the lid to pour & retighten to prevent heat loss.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK but you could do better It's tough to fill the water reservoir (difficult to angle the pot to fill the reservoir) and the pot leaks/spills unless you fill the reservoir very slowly. Also, the lid to the carafe is difficult to get on/off. The lid has a rubber gasket that seals it, but makes it difficult to twist the lid of the carafe to open/close it, and there is no place on the lid providing leverage to help you. There is a lever on the lid you have to depress in order to pour the coffee from the pot, but it is made of light plastic and will likely break if you use it for leverage when securing the lid. The lid also leaks after you stop pouring the coffee. You have to depress a lever in order to pour the coffee, but when you let go of the lever there is still a fair amount of coffee that continues to pour from the lid before it stops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Coffee Maker A great stainless steel coffee maker. Not sure why other people gave it such a bad review. When you pour the coffee it only spills a little bit of coffee if any. You can even pour a cup of coffee while the coffee is still brewing so it has a pause and serve feature. For me it hasn't spilled any coffee or malfunctioned while brewing. Your coffee is kept warm for hours without burning it. I had this coffee maker for almost 2 years now and it works perfect. There are 2 downsides to it. Its hard to pour water in it and the water level is only marked on one side. I have to use a glass to pour water instead of using the coffee pot or else I spill water everywhere. I had had much cheaper coffee makers where it was very easy to pour water in. Just designed poorly. Its a little on the bulky side. Its annoying for me since I have small kitchen counter. Overall its just a great, inexpensive, stainless steel/thermal coffee maker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy with mine Wish I had returned this item. I've had it for about 6 months. The coffee tastes ok, but you'd better pour your cup over the sink because the pot dribbles like crazy! You loose a quarter cup for every one you pour. Can't figure why it's leaking. Haven't made time to shop for another. Didn't take time to return. I couldn't recommend this brand or this particular pot at all!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good choice The Hamilton Beach Carafe coffee maker is missing essential ingredients for a [$] coffee maker. There is no pause & pour. The carafe does NOT keep the coffee warm and you are not able to turn the warmer back on once the coffee has been made. I would return mine in a heartbeat if I could.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good initially - time to replace I've had this machine for almost two years now and am ready to replace it. In the beginning, once I got used to the idiosyncratic carafe lid, the machine was wonderful. It was well-priced, quick to brew, made good tasting coffee, and kept coffee warm - exactly what I wanted. My only complaint in the beginning was, as others have mentioned, the carafe shape makes it very difficult to clean. Over time, I've had more and more incidents of the carafe top not allowing the coffee into the carafe quickly enough resulting in huge puddles of coffee on the counter and floor during brewing if I'm not watchful. It's time to find a new machine, and I will probably try a different brand at a higher price point. However, for the money, two years wasn't a bad run.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Up Until Now I've had a very similar model to this coffee maker...mine is the red model.. for several months now... and its been great. I'm no coffee expert, but its been reliable and makes good, consistent coffee. However, beware of the buttons. They are extra cheap and in the past month, I've had trouble programming this coffee maker, setting the clock and even just turning it on. All because the buttons have just stopped working properly. And now, I might not be able to turn it on at all! Definitely not worth the money.
