Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rubber gasket on lid retains smells: beware! Purchased this a couple months ago and had been thrilled with it, so cute and seemed to cook fine although food had been tasting a little funny lately. A few hours ago I noticed a horrible smell from the lid when I was washing it (I usually run it through the dishwasher). The non-removable rubber gasket that goes around the edge of the lid (none of my previous slow cookers had ever had a lid like that, they must install it to provide cushioning for locking down the lid when you travel) had started retaining odors of everything I have previously cooked. It smelled terrible! I washed it over and over again to no avail. I have had it soaking in vinegar for a bit and hoping that helps. I did some reading online and found this to be a common problems with gasket lids like this. It sounds like I am going to need to be soaking it in vinegar often. Sort of frustrating because I didn't really want that feature to begin with, if I had to do it over I would buy one without it.
