Rated 1 out of 5 by from Parrot Lady I agree with the plastic sent. I had to run another fan for fear of what that sent would do to my parrots. It also is very loud. Though because its easy to pick up filters and such at Target, its worth it NO. It is going back and will not get another Honeywell. I can say I love Targets return policy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY I purchased this air cleaner in the spring. I ran it in my living room where we spend most of our time. At first I noticed a plastic like smell coming from it and thought it was the filter so I changed it. It still smelled so I figured it had to be from the plastic the unit was made of and assumed that the smell would eventually go away. After four months it still stunk and the smell was burning my nose. I got to the point I couldn't stand it so I stopped using it. I contacted Honeywell and they said I could ship it back to them to have it replaced. It is a large air cleaner and it was going to cost me an arm and a leg just to send it back. So save your money and buy something besides a Honeywell!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from About to purchase our 3rd unit We purchased our first unit about 5 years ago for our livingroom because I was concerned about air quality. We didn't use it much and I didn't think very highly of it. Then we had our daughter allergy tested and found out exactly HOW to use the unit correctly! The key is to NOT use the ionizer feature is you have someone that has allergy induced asthma since it will actually make it worse -according to our dr. We were also instructed to not change the HEPA filters, or remove and clean them, more than 1 time a year. The room that the air purifier is used in should remain completely CLOSED! No open windows to "let in the fresh air" - run the A/C in the summertime! Bedroom door closed unless you are actively walking through the door. This air purifier, along with the other changes made under the advisement of our dr, has done WONDERS for both our children! I just found out I have the same allergies and am about to purchase a 3rd unit for my bedroom!
