Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Terrible carpet cleaner comes with terrible customer service. I bought this carpet cleaner and the first one leaked terribly. I took it to the repair shop Hoover told me to take it to and waited a month with no word back and unreturned phone calls. Finally, Hoover just sent me a new cleaner. This one also stopped working for different reasons. The dirty water tank has a defective, poorly designed handle that swings over to lock the lid down. Which also after very little use chewed the pegs off on the side that the handle swung around leaving the lid just sitting on top with no pressure. They told me it must have been my fault and I could buy a new one. The internet was full of the same problem. Next the brushes stopped working. Don't waste your money! Buy something else!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY Don't buy this. I used just a twice when I bought this cleaner. Then I didn't need to use because I didn't have a carpet, and today (because we moved in another house) and cleaner - does not work! Cleaner is not under warranty anymore, and now I can throw away money which I spent. I used just a twice to clean 3 bedrooms. Just a twice! DON'T BUY THIS!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tank Assembly I purchased model # FH50220 Series BJ10.0 approximately 6 months ago. I have only used the machine twice and the tank is now leaking from the plunger/spring assembly on the bottom of the tank. This seems like a defective tank design. Any thoughts on how to fix this problem?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like it but leaks out of the hose. I purchased this carpet cleaner in May 2012. I have used other brands and do like that it is easier for me to use. I did have a problem a few months after purchasing with the tank and springs. Hoover quickly fixed it for me and sent me a replacement tank w/springs. I do like it. Just outside of the 2 year warranty, my hose starts leaking when I use the main carpet cleaning machine. I cannot afford to have it fixed but am hoping there is something I can do to fix it. I am frustrated cause I can't afford to buy a new one. Any suggestions? I would give it more stars if it gets fixed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Carpet is too wet afterwards I had an old Hoover that worked great, I replaced the motor once after years of use, the second time just decided to buy a new one assuming will be better and improved and got this model. It works and cleans and the cleaning attachment works better than the old one, but as far as the vacuum using it, leaves to much water on the carpet and of course the dirt in it. I'm not new using this and consider myself very good at it, but on this one out of a full canister of water and detergent only get 1/3 of it back on the cleaner and of course the other 2/3 stay in the carpet. Which means that is just picking up 1/3 of the dirt it could, know will be impossible to pick up the whole tank back in the cleaner, but even in the bare floor leaves a lot of water!!! I hope they could build the old one again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cleans well-Cheap drive pin is it's downfall! I love this cleaner and am a fan of Hoover for many machines and years. It works well-when its working. The drive pin continually breaks and this is a common problem noted by many, many users. They should come up with a new pin as a replacement so that people don't keep wasting their money and time! Come on Hoover!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from wasted my money Tried using this today for first time. The power button doesn't work, unless I keep it manually pressed down while trying yo clean carpet. It did not extract worth a dime, carpet is very wet, and not sure brushes were even moving. So frustrated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Brush drive pin doesn't hold up When it works it seems to work well except that the scrub brush drive pins keeps on breaking. I ordered two extra and went through both of them in one afternoon. They real need to beef up the brush drive train.
