The iRiver Story HD. Totally lacking in features and customization I find that this reader just works. I adjust the text to the size I want and read. Simple. The pagination seems to always be perfectly laid out. No wasted margins that have to be adjusted etc.
But the best part is my ability to buy Google digital books from my local bookstore here in Wisconsin. This allows me to support my local bookstore.[...]. And then, like the Kindle, the book appears on my Story HD. [...] Again I find the
iRiver Story HD just plain works. It gets slammed in reviews because it does not have all the bells and whistles and customization. But it has a great screen and it works. You spend your time reading not managing a new electronic gizmo.

Superior Eink screen than [...], fast page turning, lots of formats supported, expanded memory options with the SD card slot, easy to use interface, Adobe DRM support, etc etc etc. I can go on and on about how great it is and would probably take up the entire page, but pick one up for yourself and see how awesome this ereader really is!
So happy with it! I just got mine from Target yesterday and it is an awesome e-reader! I read both books and comics on it and the display quality is just superb compared to the other competitive e-readers out there. Page turns are fast as well with no lags in between. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Drewsky "Drew S" (Cleveland, OH, USA) said that EPUB is not a supported file format. It is indeed a supported file format as are PDF, TXT, FB2, DJVU, PPT, PPTx, XLSX, Doc, DOCx, HWP, Zip (JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF) and Adobe ADEPT (EPUB/PDF)
PDF, TXT, EPUB!! Just got mine, and it is very comparable to the Kindle. So far they're about the same in the quality of the reading experience ... which is excellent. I don't use the notes function, so I don't really care if the Story HD doesn't have that enabled. If you download Calibre software, you can use either interchangeably so long as the document in question doesn't have DRM blocking it. Here's a pretty good article explaining how to do this:http://www.ipubsoft.com/epub-converters/ co
nvert-mobi-to-iriver-story-hd.htmlI'll be using both for a while to see which one seems more practical.
