After seeing the negative review on target.com, I was sketchy about buying this item. I took the chance because I have never had any issues with my other KitchenAid small appliances. We put our food in the processor and went to turn it on. Nothing happened. I took the plastic bowl off and pushed in the "switch" to test it - the motor worked fine. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work when the bowl was on because I had heard it click into place. I called KitchenAid CS and they tol d me that there was a safety setting that wasn't listed in the instruction manual. You have to have the handle facing towards the front of the machine, as a safety precaution. I tested it, and it worked perfectly. The only recommendation I have is for KitchenAid to make this information more widely available. Many customers would just assume that the product didn't work rather than taking the extra step to make a phone call. Overall, the product is great, once you know of the setup quirk.

This machine does work and after sending my first one back I have figured it out. Unlike what the previous review read, the food pusher must be facing the front of the machine!! It is not the handle, but the food pusher!! The manual does not mention this. Very poor job by Kitchenaid to not reveal that major step in starting the machine.

This is a great product that has taken residence on my counter instead of being shoved in a cabinet. It's quick, easy to clean, and provides consistently sliced, chopped, minced, or shredded results. Some of the things that annoyed me in a previously purchased processor were resolved with this one! Features I love are 1- Allows you to set it to either low or high and not continue to hold down the button -unless you pulse. 2- Chopping blade locks into place - not something my previous processor had, so when I'd pour my processed food, the blade would fall out with the food. 3- Adjustable slicer, which allows you to perfectly select the thickness you'd like. Complaints are 1- The base is large and consumes more space than my previous processor. I have a ton of kitchen electrics, so finding space for them can be difficult. 2- Safety feature that that requires you to have the lid on facing the front. No big deal, but if you're not aware, you may believe that the processor doesn't work. The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

This food processor was very easy to use, the hardest part was trying to get it out of the box, which was not easy. I just used this food processor to make salsa and guacamole. The consistency of both came out great. It is much quiter then my [...] and I love the look and will actually keep it on my countertop. I really liked that it had 3 speeds, high, low and pulse. The plastic bowl seems thicker and more durable then my [...]. It was very easy to clean and the attachments are easy to pu t on and take off. Overall this seems to be a great food processor and I highly recommend it. The author of this review received a free sample of the product

Unless Kitchen Aid has changed the design of this product since seeing these reviews I think some people shouldn't be in the kitchen! I'm making my own baby food and my blender overheated! This processor is great at pureeing! Granted I've only used it for two days, but I make a lot of baby food all at once and it's quite a work horse!

My 17 year old son was excited to try it out which was a extra joy bonus works great . The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

We had the same problem getting ours working, and the manual didn't cover the part we were overlooking. The handle position is obvious because it can only lock into one place. WIth the can off I was able to make it run by pressing the lock switch with a toothpick and turning it on low. So I knew it worked. The lid to the canister is what needs to be in the correct position for it to complete the safety lock. It has a clear plastic tab that needs to be aligned with the handle to actuate the r est of the lock from the top. This will be in the correct position if you rotate the lid counter-clockwise into position so this tab meets up with the handle. This puts the feed tube directly in front at 6 o'clock. Overall, a decent value. Ours makes a fair bit of noise and the slicing attachments wobble a bit but hopefully will slice consistently. Making salsa tonight!

I read the reviews before using this product, so I had no problem getting it going. It's very easy to assemble, very easy to use and very powerful. I was able to get a entire package of Oreos crumbled in under 2 minutes. For such a compact machine it does have a lot of power. It's great for slicing root vegetables, or cake for cake pops. It comes apart for quick and easy cleaning. It's small size makes storage easy. But don't let the size fool you, this is a great machine. I love the 3 power s peeds. The bowl is a heavy plastic, very durable. I highly recommend you read all of the instructions before using this food processor. It offers a lot of tips and tricks. I love this and it's worth spending the money for this higher quality food processor. The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

This food processor is simple and easy to use and does a great job. It slices and shreds perfectly, and I especially liked that the slicing blade is adjustable for thick or thin slices. I had a little trouble figuring out how to get the lid on the right way, and it won't come on until it is right. It might be helpful if this were marked in some way on the lid, but it didn't take me long to figure it out. It looks and feels like a quality product, and I'm sure it will hold up to years of use. Th e only thing I disliked is that I thought the buttons were a little hard to press.

This has worked great for me for the past year. I did learn quickly to put on some oven mitts when I pull up the blade to take it out. I cut myself the first couple of times because it doesn't come out easily. I wish there were some kind of lock and unlock mechanism. Anyway I just put on the oven mitts and it's no problem. My REAL problem is that a few days ago my husband noticed food gunk buildup inside the handle, so he disassembled it in order to clean it. There are two small screws on the bottom. Once he got the main handle off, three small parts also fell out. It is driving us crazy trying to figure out how to put them back together! We just cannot figure it out. I called KitchenAid but they said there is no diagram to show how it goes back together and that a new bowl would be 39.95, almost half the price of an entire new machine! Oh, and of course this is 3 days after it went out of warranty. So without a bowl it is useless!
