How-to’s

  • Reveal Your Ideal Skin

Strengthen, smooth and brighten your complexion
Around age 30, skin begins to weaken. Deep within skin’s layers, the dermis loses support and skin becomes less bouncy. On the epidermis, the outermost surface layers, cellular renewal slows and discoloration and dullness appear. At the junction of the dermis and epidermis, collagen production diminishes so skin’s structure becomes less strong and complexion dulls. When the surface layers are strong, skin’s cells are perfectly organized and skin’s surface is smooth, tight, and even. Clarity and brightness are restored.
  • Worried About Wrinkles?

What you need to know to fight back

    How Wrinkles Form

All wrinkles are not the same. Some are age related, but most are caused by sunrays, environmental factors, or lifestyle. There are also expression lines, which are created by our facial muscles every time we make any kind of expression. They’re especially visible on the forehead and around the eyes and mouth.

    Deep, Visible Wrinkles

As we age, the skin’s fibrous support network begins to breaks down. Over time, as cell regeneration slows, deep-set wrinkles form. Stubborn crow’s feet, forehead, brow and frown lines deepen and settle into the skin becoming more visible.

    Get Smoother-Looking Skin

Clinical procedures, such as BOTOX® or filler injections do work, but typically last only a few months and can get costly. An alternate solution is the innovative wrinkle-fighting technology in anti-aging skin care products. RevitaLift® Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair is made with Pro-Retinol A and Fiber-Restoring Complex, which help repair wrinkles from within, reducing their size and depth. This breakthrough formula is clinically proven to help visibly reduce deep-set wrinkles in just 8 weeks*. Revitalift Deep-set Wrinkle Repair 24HR Eye Duo is an innovative 2-step solution that targets deep set wrinkles around the eyes. In the AM it provides SPF 15 sunscreen protection while in the PM it restores and repairs broken skin fibers around the eyes*.

  • Day or Night Products

    Do I need both?
Want great skin? Having a daily anti-aging skin care regimen for day and night is your best defense for keeping skin looking healthy, smooth, and radiant.

    Daytime Skin Care

Your daytime skin care regimen should include a cleanser, a toner, and most importantly a moisturizer with UVA and UVB protect of at least SPF 15. A perfect daytime moisturizer provides all-day moisture plus sun protection to help prevent sun damage and premature skin aging caused by sun exposure.

    Nighttime Skin Care

Your nighttime skin care regimen should include a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that will optimize the skin’s nightly renewal process while you rest. A nighttime moisturizer can provide continuous hydration and smooth lines throughout the night. A good nighttime skin regimen will have you awaken each morning to skin that looks fresh and radiant.

  • Boost Your Beauty Regimen

For the time-challenged among us (and that’s mostly everyone!), a total skin care regimen might consist of cleanser, SPF and moisturizer. But in the quest for gorgeous skin, do you really need a serum in addition to your moisturizer? The answer is, for increased results, yes!

But exactly what is a serum?

A skin care serum is usually a liquid, generally oil-free product with higher concentrations of active ingredients, which can help address specific skin concerns. This is why the term “concentrated” is often associated with serums. Most of the time, serums are designed to work with a cream or moisturizer.

Because of their lightweight form, serums are usually fast-absorbing and their ingredients can more easily penetrate the skin—and yield faster results.

When it comes to serums, less is usually more, which explains why they tend to come in smaller containers. You need only a drop or two, just enough to cover your entire face and décolletage. After you’ve properly cleansed your face, apply the serum and wait a few minutes before putting on your facial cream or moisturizer. This will ensure full absorbency and maximum effectiveness.

Serums are available for virtually every skin concern: reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, lifting and firming sagging skin, awakening a dull or tired complexion or erasing age spots. After determining your personal skin care needs, choose a formula that works to address those concerns specifically.

A consistent anti-aging regimen can serve as an alternative to (or even eliminate the need for) in-office dermatological procedures. Though the results may not be quite as dramatic, the cost—and recovery time—will be much more appealing.
  • 10 Years of Research

Our innovation is the result of a unique collaboration between independent scientists and L’Oréal Paris, a global leader in beauty.

This collaboration has ushered in a new era in our understanding of skin behavior and how it is affected by age.

Studies influenced by the science of genes have enabled our researchers to better understand the skin’s behavior in response to external aggressors, such as UV rays, pollution, and free radicals.

This is a breakthrough for L’Oréal research.

    10 Years of Research

Our research has revealed differences in the way young and mature skin respond to external aggressors, such as UV rays, pollution, and free radicals.

Understanding the way skin responds to external stress factors has enabled L’Oréal to identify and develop new care ingredients that help improve the efficiency of skin’s epidermal recovery process.

    Our Discovery

Working with independent researchers, L’Oréal has determined that when put under stress, certain skin genes linked to epidermal recovery are activated.

This activation is known as “gene expression”. In young skin, gene expression peaked at six hours after external stresses, such as exfoliation, were applied. In mature skin however, the peak did not occur until 30 hours had passed, indicating that mature skin takes longer to respond, compared to younger skin.

As we age, skin responds more slowly and takes longer to recover.

The complexion loses luminosity, facial features appear tired and wrinkles deepen.
