Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and value I use this in my garage when it gets too cold. It puts out a good amount of heat. I really like the automatic timing feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2014 Review Most of the reviews here are two and three years old. I think Lasko has improved their products since then. The line cord gets warm but never hot. I found that the thermostat works very accurately. Because it is near the floor it reads 2 degrees lower than a wall thermometer. Unlike a compact heater or a "radiator-style" convection heater, the thermostat on the tower is not affected by the heater itself, and shuts off completely when the room warms up. The thermostat works only with the 1500w setting. Low power works continuously or with timer, so the unit may not be suitable for smaller rooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More effective than I expected My goal was to take the chill off in my kitchen. This unit keeps the entire downstairs very comfortable. We have vaulted ceilings and the unit manages to maintain the approx. 600 sq. ft. area.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would be 5 stars if This unit has two heat settings- 800 watts and 1500 watts. Although it heats great if I want to set the thermostat I am forced to use the 1500 watt setting as it is not linked with the 800 watt setting. I am using this in a very small room that gets hot quickly on the 800 watt setting and won't turn off. If I had known this in advance I probably would not have bought this heater as I don't want to use the 1500 watt setting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Noisy! Bought this in late winter 2012 because it was the only one left in the store & our other one broke, two years old, same brand-model. I would've returned it on the spot but there were no alternatives. It starts out fine, but when it hits 70 it rattles. When it shuts off you realize how loud it is. I use it to heat my daughter's room. It works but I'll be replacing it after only a few months use because it's obnoxiously loud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job well I live in a very open floor plan and with us being on a corner unit, we have a lot of windows that makes the place at night get cold. We purchased this tower to use primarily in our living room, 14x12, and our bedroom, 11x13. I purchased this with the remote because if it got too hot, I could easily turn it off. I don't use the automatic function because as soon as the heater turns off, within 5 minutes I have to turn it on again. My boyfriend and I love it because in our living room, we are both warm. At night we move the heater into our room, set it at 70 degrees, set the timer for 2 hours, and fall asleep warm and worry free. This well worth the money. We are actually purchasing a second one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It will do I bought this about a month ago and I have not had any major problems with it. Although, I must admit.. YES the thermostat is a bit off and reads the wrong temperature sometimes. But I don't really think that is a big deal because all purchased was a heater with a remote control and those are the things that work the best. If it is too cold or turns off before I feel content with the warmth of the house, then I just use my remote control and turn it up some without even moving from my bed or couch. The cord does not get all that hot,no more than a regular cord with electricity running though it, nor does the unit itself. It stays cool to the touch and warms up my small bedroom, living room, and bathroom with no problems. The oscillation feature works great as well. If you are looking for something just to get you warm during the cold months with out having to have your electric bill sky high then this will work for you. I am enjoying it.
