I bought nearly everything in the Woodzeez line over a year ago for my daughter who was then seven. Although she's a little old for them now, she got them back out tonight and I remembered how much I loved them. The attention to detail is remarkable and all pieces are well-made. Setting up and organizing the stores are as much fun as anything. While the MANY little pieces may be challenging for little hands, children five or older will be fine and moms will have fun helping. They are just as c ute or cuter than the Calico Critters line and are less expensive. The only problem is they need to make more! I haven't seen anything new since we bought ours 14 months ago.
Lots of imaginative playtime- works really well with Lalaloopsys, too.
We love this store. I actually bought it for myself and I let my kids play with it while I am supervising them, so they won't lose any of the pieces. All of the pieces are moveable. I can't wait to actually get the animals - haven't gotten them yet. I hope to have this one for a long time and keep it as a part of my action figurine collection. Its like a little museum! This was well worth the price {}. I was priced {} at a specialty store. Just wish the pieces had holes in them and the shelves had spokes or something so that all the pieces would not fall off time you bump into it. I think I am going to line the shelves with double-sided tape and see how that goes. Overall, great toy for the 'mature' person or a responsible child. I'd recommend getting a plastic box to put the whole thing in when you're not playing with it.

I bought this as an adult who loves miniatures, although I definitely recommend it for a child. It has an excellent level of detail for a toy. Every piece is individual and can be moved, including the "furniture", but not the shelves. The 2 fabric rolls unroll, and you can stick "food" in the 2 canvas bags that come with the set. The scale is reasonable for the size of the Woodzeez animals. Each individual piece is nicely sturdy, made of thick plastic that does not lose it s shape when squeezed, as was the case 20 in toys years ago. It does not come with storage for the tiny items, a zip-plastic bag should do. Animals sold separately. My one complaint... The candy jars on the round "wood" display have slightly rounded bottoms. They would constantly fall off, except that I kept the part of the packaging that goes underneath them, giving them a subtle way to stay in place while still being very easy to remove. I recommend keeping that piece as if it is part of the toy.
