I'm a Target team member, and my parents purchased this for our son. He loves playing w/ his "big car" - mostly pushing it around the yard chasing the dog. I like the addition of the foot plate for lack of better terms so that littler ones can sit in it without getting their feet pulled under the toy when being pushed in it from behind. The instructions looked a little intimidating, but were clear and it took us maybe an hour to put it together once we gathered all the tools.
Assembly is tough, but Little Tykes has assembly videos available online. My husband and I are veteran toy assemblers, and the video really streamlined the assembly process for us. Be near a computer when you put this toy together.

I was able to assemble in less than an hour with my daughter under foot anxious to play with it! I would recommend using the video instructions found on Little Tikes website versus paper instructions. Initially I was very hesitant to order due to all the negative reviews - definitely glad that I took a leap of faith and purchased it. My daughter LOVES her new Cozy Coupe!
Let me start by saying that my 19 month old son does love this toy and it seems to be pretty durable, HOWEVER, my husband and I are BOTH engineers and work in construction and we had a REALLY hard time getting this thing built. The directions are AWFUL. There are no screw holes for the screws. A cordless drill and screwdriver took care of this quickly, but to me this was a way for the company to skip a step and save money which to me is extremely cheap. The "arms" for the roof were so hard to get in that we used a rubber mallet and had to beat them in, not very well manufactured to fit together. It is now together though and he does enjoy it so I guess just another adventure in parenting. Enjoy, but Good Luck!!
Every time we go somewhere & these cars are there our boys (almost 2 & almost 4) can't get enough of them. So we bought one for our youngest (his b-day is later this week), after all the reviews I read I was thinking we better put it together Sat. night - not a week night. It really is hard to put together. It's like they give 75% of the way to build it & then let you figure it out. In fact it's waiting to be finished because we still need to figure out how we're going to cinch the top down (right now a strong wind would blow it down on their heads). I can't wait for it to be done & to see them having fun w/ it though :)
This toy is a must have! The only issue I have is that Target is $ over priced compared to other stores and pretty much anywhere else you can buy it. What gives?They won't price match, so look elsewhere.
My husband and I put this car together in 20 minutes. Everyone was saying that it was difficult but we were able to follow the instructions without any trouble. Some of the parts were difficult to pop into place and we did have to angle them and use force. A power drill makes it easier to put the screws in but it is possible to do it with just a screwdriver (just slower and more tiring). My kids are 1 and 2 and they both try to ride together. The handle on the back is nice when I need to have a bit more control with the direction the car is heading. We will definitely be purchasing a second soon!
My daughter received this as a gift for her 2nd birthday and loves it! It's easy for her to move around, and she is excited to have her own car. It wasn't too hard to put together and took me about 30-45 minutes by myself.

my son who is almost 2 years old loves, his cousin so I had to buy him one, which i almost didnt because of everybody saying how hard to build it was...... Well to my surprise it was easy, it took less than 2hrs and it only took me that long because my son was trying to help but kept running off with my tools..... But The way to build this is not follow the directions in the box but go to you tube it goes step by step and you can pause it, made my life so much easier.......[...]
