Rated 5 out of 5 by from great tv for the $$ My husbadn put it together and it was up and running in no time at all. We bought it to put in a beach rental house.. and it is perfect for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds expectations given the price! I purchased this television when it was on sale with an additional 5% REDcard discount. For the price, I would expect it to be lacking many features, but it actually had more than many other, more expensive, and smaller televisions. Here is what I liked: -50" is a nice, large size -LED backlighting -Great picture quality -Loud for built-in LCD speakers -3 HDMI -1080p resolution -Much thinner & lighter than others in this price range It would have been nice to have built-in WiFi, but there are inexpensive streaming USB sticks that add all of the capability of a smart tv for less than $40. I used one of these, and it worked perfectly. For me, this was definitely a better choice than spending much more money to get the same size and features from a more popular brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy for the Price I just bought this TV about 2 weeks ago, I must say I am very pleased with my purchase. I was really Hesitant to buy because it was a Magnavox, I was originally looking for a Samsung Smart TV, but came to my senses because of my Budget, This TV is simple , Great clear picture, the sound is great, good options for adjustments, and 3 usb on this TV. Yes its only 60hz but for what I wanted to pay its great, sports look great on it. Good Job Magnavox, keep up your good work. To top it off only $45 for a 3 year warranty, that's also persuaded me to buy, while other stores want around $130 to $150 for a 3 year warranty, hopefully I'll never have to use it, but if I do I have it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Picture and Sound, Great Value I've had this TV for almost 6 months now and have no complaints. Bought it on sale and was initially worried that the low price I paid would translate to low quality. Thankfully, this product has worked well. The picture is very crisp, and I have had no issues with refresh rate during action scenes or sports programs. It isn't as bright as some other mainstream sets, but if you're upgrading from an LCD TV like me, it'll be noticeably brighter. Also, the sound on this TV really isn't bad. If you're very particular, you'll need a sound bar, but the speakers on this TV are much better than I expected. I have a sound bar but find that I almost never use it because the speakers are good enough for casual watching. Lastly, I'm very happy that this TV comes with 3 HDMI inputs. Some higher end brands only come with 2 inputs, so it's nice to see Magnavox opted to put 3 on this set. If you're on a budget or need a second big screen for the kids/playroom/man cave, I highly suggest giving this set a chance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Picture But Terrible Sound We chose the Magnavox over the similarly priced (on sale) Vizio 50 inch recommended by CNET, because we read a review on this site saying how great the Magnavox's audio is. The audio is terrible. It sounds like it's coming out of a tin can. You will need a sound bar or stereo system. More money. I work in radio and so I'm fairly sensitive to good vs. bad audio. The picture is beautiful. Very rich. Just watched some of the Harry Potter films on it and they were beautiful. It's not as bright as the Samsung's and others but that's a plus for me because the brighter the display the more washed out the darker, richer colors look. One note: the online description of this TV and the one printed in stores says it has a refresh rate of 60 times per second. The box it came in says 120. We see no refresh problems when watching sports and action films.
