On the day of purchase, I assembled this table relatively easily. That night, I rested my feet on the lower shelf and it broke in three places. Although this table was inexpensive, it should last longer than one day. The good thing is it was within the 3-month return policy so I returned it without purchasing a replacement. The wood peg that supports the shelf is a huge design flaw, not to mention the cheap particle board used to make it. I am surprised more people have not complained about thi s problem.

I actually use this as a entertainment center and not a coffee table. My flat screens sits on top nicely and the cable box fits on the shelf below. Super easy to put together and the drawer is great for storing extra cords and remotes. Looks great in my living room.

So normally I ALWAYS read product reviews before I purchase something, however already having purchased many other Target items in the past I thought what the heck and I bought this table on a whim.I am very disappointed in the quality of this table.Three days after this table was put together my wife put her feet on the bottom shelf and it fell to the ground ripping all four holes that were holding it up.At first I was mad at her then I realized that the only thing holding the shelf up was 4 t iny,loose wooden pegs.In my opinion they should have found a way to hold that shelf up with some screws at least.The good thing for us is that the rest of the table looks great and we love the drawer so we just took out the wooden pegs where the shelf used to be and called it a day,the table doesn't look all that bad without the shelf and we didn't really need the extra storage anyway.Howver, I will make sure I continue to read reviews before purchasing products.

We purchased one and brought it home and the bottom shelf piece was cracked on the corners where it meets the legs of the table. We returned that one and purchased another one, put it together and it looked great since it matched the TV stand which is also the Manhattan collection. However, 3 days later, the bottom shelf broke in the same place that the original one we purchased was broken. Looks great with the set, bummer it broke.

I just dismantled the 2nd one in a month that we attempted to make work. The first, broke during assembly. The blasted thing can't take any pressure, even from slightly over-zealous use of the screwdriver. The customer service at Target was nice enough to allow us to exchange it for a new one. The second, assembly went smoothly. I put 3-Trivial Pursuit games on the bottom shelf. 1-full game, 2 expansion packs. These boxes are heavy-ish, maybe 4.5lbs each. The shelf fell off the table within an hour. All four corners were broken. After dealing with the first one, I opted to just keep the table with bottom shelf removed. My husband though, insisted we return it. [...................]

We bought this table and less than a week after assembly, the bottom shelf broke in four places at the same time. I will not be buying another coffee table at Target. This was not worth [$] bucks, never mind [$$] bucks.

Overall the table is great, but within 5 days the bottom shelf broke and shattered. All it took was the weight of resting your feet on the bottom shelf to make it rip through the small dowels that hold it on

Was fairly easy to assemble, but pretty heavy to heave it all the way to the third floor. The quality is not good. I've had it about a year and the finish has begun to chip and bubble. Do NOT put anything on the lower shelf. As some of the other reviews mention, this part is made of extremely cheap particle board with a false wood look finish, and will fall apart with any pressure or weight applied, and there is no way to fix it because it's particle board. I have other furniture pieces from Ta rget, some are 15 years old and still look better than this piece after one year. If you don't expect this table to see a lot of use, maybe this is for you. Looks great, but if this is your primary coffee table, you should shop elsewhere.

The bottom shelf of this table broke within 4 days of assembly. All 4 attachment points failed simultaneously. Cheap particle board. Time to go to a real furniture store for a replacement.

Got this table about 4 months ago, had company over the other night and as most of the other reviews have mentioned, a little weight on the bottom shelf and sure enough, it broke. The wooden dowels used to support the particle board are not near strong enough.
