Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the portability with the backpack! Received this a week after my daughter was born because she wasn't latching on correctly and it was very painful to breastfeed. This pump helped out a lot while my nipples healed and I use it at work all the time. Love the smallness of the backpack compared to the tote otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to store it in my locker at work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic system! I was originally gifted this set with the tote during my first pregnancy. I love the convenience of it being portable since I was still working and getting out and about from time to time. It is also relatively quiet, so I found I could use it discretely in my office. The cooler and other accessories were also a great start. My hospital uses Medela pumps and so after my daughter was born, the lactation consultant was familiar enough to coach me on my own pump. I loved it so much, that I bought this backpack for my niece to use with her little one and I will be using it again my new little on after his birth! Great purchase and great value compared to other stores!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for working moms I use this daily at home and work and its great. I would reccomend also buying a bustier thing for hands free pumping and a car adapter for pumping on the go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I'm still 2 weeks from my due date, so I haven't used this product yet. However, it was easy to assemble and easy to understand how it works. It has the option to gradually increase the suction level on it's own, which I like. The shields feel comfortable, it is easy to clean and the backpack is fairly stylish. I got it with a discount but I still feel it's a little on the expensive side. I'll see whether or not it was worth the money pretty soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pump I got an ameda purely yours pump from my insurance. I had to use it immediately after getting discharged from the hospital after having my first child because he was having issues breastfeeding. It broke after a week of frequent use. After many tears shed I went out and bought the pump in style. I absolutely love it! It works much better than the other pump. I didn't realize how terrible the other one was!! I chose to get the backpack version because I already carry a purse and a diaper bag and a backpack makes it more manageable with a baby! The bottles that come with the pump are ok. I purchased the hands free bra and that works very nicely! Only complaint about the bra is that the zipper on it is not that great. You have to wiggle it in to zip it properly. Other than that it has been nice to be hands free to do other things while getting milked. Overall the medala products have been wonderful! It is worth spending the extra money on a pump because the other products are inferior.

  • Allergens & Warnings:
  • Important: Plastic bottles and component parts become brittle when frozen and may break when dropped. Also, bottles and component parts may become damaged if mishandled, e.g. dropped, over-tightened, or knocked over. Take appropriate care in handling bottles and components. Do not use the breastmilk if bottles or components become damaged. If you experience discomfort while pumping, contact a breastfeeding specialist. BabyCenter Editors' review

What it is
If you want both efficiency and convenience, you can't really do better than the Pump in Style. Yes, it's quite pricey, but it's also well designed, powerful, and quiet – features that are especially important for mothers who will be using their pumps frequently or for an extended period of time.

This pump is truly a workhorse, winning rave reviews from mothers who have used it day in, day out, often for more than one child. It's fast, too, thanks to the two-phase expression, which helps produce more milk in less time, and the fact that you can control speed and suction power to find your most comfortable level. Choose from three styles – a tote bag, backpack, or shoulder bag, all of which include a removable cooler bag and contoured ice pack.

What to watch out for
The pump motor is physically built into the tote and the backpack, so you can't take it out and carry it another way. (Only the shoulder bag model – the Metro – allows you to remove the pump.)

  • Why are Medela breastpumps different?

Proven by research & moms to produce more milk in less time.* Medela is the only company to provide research-based pump technology that mimics a baby’s natural nursing pattern.
Through research, Medela learned that there are two distinct phases of how babies breastfeed.

    1) Stimulation phase – When babies first go to breast, they suck fast and light to stimulate milk flow.
    2) Expression phase – After milk flow or “let-down” starts, babies breastfeed with a slower, deeper suck, bringing out more milk faster.

The original 2-Phase Expression® technology can only be found in Medela breastpumps.

*When pumping at Maximum Comfort Vacuum™ in the Expression phase.

  • Made without BPA – Safe for Mom & Baby

All Medela breastmilk bottles and products that come in contact with breastmilk are and always have been made without BPA.
