I purchased 2 of these dresses last summer & going for more this year. This is by far one the most comfortable dresses around. I am shaped like a pear, small up top, large/thick on the bottom. I'm 5'8" and I currently weigh 175 lbs. I usually wear 12 in dresses and XL or 14 in pants. I highly recommend purchasing a smaller size because even with my big hips, this dress swallowed me up and looked like a moo-moo. Going down a size was quite flattering and it hit all the right spots to wh ere my husband said "wow.. that's cute! I could have even gotten away with going down even 1 more size but I saved that extra room for washing purposes just in case. For the less endowed woman on top and botton or thin ladies, I recommend 2 sizes smaller. The v neck drops low so keep that in mind. It's definitely long even on me, falling below my ankles, just above the floor. Great with flip flops for casual but can certainly be dressed up with accessories. This is a great all-purpose dress.
I have a few curves that dont always contain themselves appropriately in dresses and this one did the trick! Its pretty, the material is comfy, and its flattering to my "bumpy" bits. I Absolutely love it. You can dress it up or keep it casual. Its a prefect vacation buy. Thanks Target.
After reading the other reviews, I figured it was worth purchasing online. I am a pear shape and always hate how I look in dresses. This dress, unlike what others said, was unflattering. It is huge, thin, and clingy in the wrong places. It made me look pregnant, even though I ordered a smaller size. I am returning this pronto.
I ordered this dress in every color! It is very comfy, I just had a baby and hides my post baby body without making me look bigger. They are long which I love I can dress it up with heels or down with chucks. They are light weight and keep me cool in the hot weather. Be wear the green and yellow are pretty see thru but with a light weight slip they are great. Heads up the neckline shows the center of my bra so i wear a halftee under mine as there is no way these 40DDD are going braless especial ly while nursing. Jesslyn these would work great as a maternity dress, however merona has an identical maternity version of the dress as well, I have a few of them as well without the tags i wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
Happy with the way this dress is flattering to a 12/14 body. It is too long for 5'7 size Large,even with heels.I will need to hem it. The grey is heather like sweatshirt material,which makes it more casual than a solid shade.Otherwise you could wear it to the beach or with jewelry&out for drinks.
This is great for around the house and shopping but runs large. I bought this for a dress to wear after having a baby and it has always been a little big, especially as I lose the pregnancy weight. Go a size smaller. This is way too big to wear while I get in shape.
Connie, I'm 5'8 and right at the same weight as you. I ordered the regular XL and it fits perfect. It should probably work for you too. The empire waist makes it flattering and gives some shape without being too clingy.
I saw the images online and read the reviews, then ordered, going with a size smaller than I usually wear as per reviews. Didn't matter - this thing still looks like a muumuu on me. If it were gathered or tied in the back it would actually be much more flattering, but this just does not work. That being said, the length was perfect - I'm 5'8" - but that alone is no reason to keep it. I wonder if this cut or style is meant more for pear-shaped women, I would think if a woman has a small er ribcage this would look fabulous. I could DEFINITELY see this working as a maternity dress as well!
I ordered this in yellow. note yellow is VERY see-through, you need a slip! I'm usually an XL AND I just had a baby less than 2 weeks ago so I figured the XL would be fine for my body, but even at that it was FAR too big. I plan on ordering more and maybe trying the L. Otherwise I got compliments on it AND even my husband said he really liked it!

I am 5'5", weigh 145 lbs and usually wear a size 8. In this dress the Small fit me the best - a tiny bit long but I expect this to shrink a teeny bit when I wash it. I almost ordered the Large but ordered a Small and Medium for comparison and the Small is defiitely the right size. The material is deliciously soft - if a bit clingy- and I know this will be my go-to summer dress. I wear a 36C-D bra and you do have to wear a bra with this dress, there is no built in support up top whats oever. I think a cotton stretchy bandeau underneath - in a contrasting color?- would also look cute.
