Motorola Digital 1.8" Video Baby Monitor - MBP18 is rated 3.5745 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK monitor, Terrible battery The title sums it up. The monitor works fine, but plan on keeping it plugged in because it doesn't last through one nap! I had one and returned it, the second one is slightly better but lasts only about 30 minutes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible monitor We bought this monitor to replace another that broke. We bought this one since we didn't feel like paying a couple hundred on the same one that broke and since our daughter is 3+ years old we thought this one was a good replacement. The picture is good, and that's all that's good about this monitor. However, the CONSTANT beeping is enough to make me throw this piece of garbage across the room. The battery lasts less than an hour and starts beeping unless it's plugged in. The range is non-existent on this monitor, I can be in the room with the camera and it will STILL BEEP! The only reason I don't hurl this life-draining instrument of #@$@! across the room into the wall is because my wife will yell at me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for reasonable price I bought this monitor with my first son when a previous brand had ran into issues with freezing frequently. So far this monitor has been great. I love the zoom option, which my previous monitor did not have. Good picture, nice options, for a reasonable price. I also love the capability to hook up more then one camera and swap from camera to camera. We recently expanded our family with the birth of my second son and eventually I will need to add a second camera for the new nursery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from mom This baby monitor is amazing! It allows me to keep an eye on my baby while I am not in the room. We really enjoy it in our house with squeaky wood floors. Works great, very good video quality and sound.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible--Don't Buy! The monitor dies in less than 1 1/2 hrs when not plugged in. It also beeps like crazy. Sound quality was fine but picture was very blurry. I do not recommend this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One Year later, the picture STINKS! This was a great monitor for just about exactly one year. The manufacturer's warranty is now expired and, of course, the image quality has radically decreased. It's difficult to tell if there is a baby in the crib, let alone what the baby is doing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This monitor is AWESOME!! Again, this monitor is AWESOME!! I should mention that I was given a free sample to use for this review, but I would definitely go out and buy this monitor. I was given an extra camera to use which has been great because I can put it in my two and three year old rooms to watch them play while I am nursing the baby. The receiver does have a color screen but that is only when there is light in the room, the night vision is in black and white but it truly doesn't make that big of a difference. The clarity of the night vision display is what I am most amazed by, you can literally see every little thing. I have had absolutely no issues with ever being out of range, even when I take it outside and we live on almost an acre so that flexibility to move around is a great feature. The screen is maybe a tad small but I think that's only because we are used to such large screens on everything else, its not like I'm not able to clearly see what it is going on. My only other suggestion of improvement would be the volume, but I am a very sound sleeper. My husband who is a light sleeper would not agree with me on this point. Last but not least, was a breeze to set up - literally put in the batteries and turn it on!! Would highly recommend this to everyone!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from randomly beeps Will beep randomly & wake us up. It says it has full signal & battery but still beeps. Very annoying. The picture is not great either.

BabyCenter Editors' review

What it is
You could be almost a full city block away from your baby's nursery and still receive clear audio and video with this monitor, even through floors, ceilings, and doors. There are lots of ways to customize your view, and the controls are intuitive and easy to use: You can choose to turn off the video or the audio, tilt the camera left or right, or zoom in for a closer look.

The receiver is sturdy but still lightweight. A kickstand helps it stand on any flat surface. Day or night, you can count on this monitor, since built-in light sensors automatically send the camera into black-and-white night-vision mode in a darkened room.

What to watch out for
Watch where you place the receiver, because you may notice interference if it's too close to a computer, smartphone, television, or microwave oven. The camera has to be plugged in – there's no battery option. Parents complain about the annoying beep you hear if the receiver goes out of video or audio range and the fact that there's no way to clip it to your belt or waistband to roam about hands-free.
