Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coffee pot with carafe! We really like this coffee pot. It brews very quickly, has a clock, nice carafe, and automatically turns off if left on too long!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad for the price My wife bought this for me when she was out shopping, she didn't want me to spend the money on a similar coffee maker that was the same, but $100.00 more expensive, so she found this. At first I was a bit skeptical, especially when I read the reviews. That being said, I find that reviews are somewhat confusing, you have to wonder if the person really knows how to use the product. Okay so that being said here is my review after 1 week. First of all, when I got this I ran 2 pots of water through the machine to let it break itself in. Then I let the carafe sit with hot water in it for about 2 minutes. You must do this with any vessel that is going to be holding a hot liquid! Thermos, coffee pot, whatever. While I let it stand heating up, I attached the filter disc and filled the filter holder with coffee. I prefer strong coffee and was concerned after reading some of the reviews about that. I measured in some French Roast coffee and added an extra scoop, just to be sure. I filled the water tank, attached it, emptied the carafe, set it in place and pushed the start button. People said that this was fast, I timed it, took just under 7 minutes to brew an entire pit. I removed the carafe and put a thermometer into check the water temperature, 181 degrees. Not really hot enough to brew the best cup of coffee, water of over 190 degrees is required to release all the oils and flavor from the coffee. But this was better than most other coffee makers I have used. Carafe is well designed, does not leak or dribble coffee when you pour it. My old coffeemaker would brew at 193 degrees and brew in about 3 minutes, but it was also over $100.00 more in price. Given the price of this I would recommend this as a good choice. You get the convenience of a carafe, no burned coffee to toss away, and it keeps the coffee warm for at least 2 hours, IF you pre-heat the carafe! The only question is how long will it last? I would have bought the other machine, given that the last one I had survived for 8 years, but I don't have a problem with this at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love at first sight, hate at second month. Loved the look and design of this product. Took it home, cleaned it, used it for about 2 months and then the "fun" began. One morning, the pot decided to overflow onto the counter, cabinets, floor, etc. Lovely event to encounter at 5am. Possibly, this was user error... however, it happened FOUR MORE TIMES!!!! We started being extremely cautious, cleaning the carafe after every use, SCOOPING loose grounds out of the base of the filter unit, etc. In addition to that, the one time I attempted to use the auto-brew feature, the maker showed the "fresh coffee" timer on the screen, yet no water had been brewed, the grounds were untouched, and the carafe was empty. The product clearly has MULTIPLE flaws and needs to be removed from store shelves until it functions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! Defective design! This has a very poorly designed lever system that falls apart and overflows making a huge mess! The lever is behind the pot and when pressed, opens a hole for the coffee to flow into the carafe. When the lever falls out (which you don't know because you can't see it behind the pot) the hole isn't open and the brewed coffee comes out the top of the maker going everywhere! Ruining things on the countertop, running down into drawers and onto the floor. Hot coffee is not good for the finish on cabinets. This whole mess is especially enjoyable at 5 a.m. when the auto brew feature kicks on!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't Live Up The coffee is not hot, very disappointed, but will try what one review said about pouring hot water into the carafe to warm it up. It does make sense that you pour hot liquid into a metal container, it will cool down. However, I've had 3 problems: 1.Tthe filter I tried to use and almost broke it when installing it 2. Secondly, even though I wet the filter, it didn't allow for the water to come through the filter and no coffee came out and I had water all over my counter 3. Thirdly you have to make sure you push the "basket" on the side, ALL the way in! For some reason it doesn't stay on mine an pops out AFTER I start to brew and have to hold it in place. Defective I think. Oh, and then today, I picked up the pot and it seemed light....the coffee never came through but as soon as I removed the carafe, coffee started pouring out of the machine! Ugh. I don't have my receipt anymore and not sure if I can return it for a replacement. I'm only giving it kindly 3 stars, because I do like the look of the machine and despite all the issues, the buttons are really easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coffe maker... Have had no problem with this coffee maker and have had it over a year now. I first purchased it for our lake place, but brought it home over the winter months. I am going to be purchasing a new one for the lake!! People that have problem with over running...maybe are either filling the reserve with too much water (watch that you only do it up to the line) or are doing something wrong when putting in the coffee and coffee filter. Definitely like this coffeemaker!!
