Rated 1 out of 5 by from worse coffee pot i ever bought thought this looked like a nice coffee maker and for the price i expected it to be. i ran water through it twice to clean it before use and both times the water ran all over the counter. took it back for an exchange. used for about 6 weeks and coffee started running out on the counter not one drop in the pot.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great, flavor is lacking After buying Mr. Coffee products for years, I was excited to try this coffee maker when my previous Mr. Coffee of 7 years stopped working. This newer model looks great on the countertop and I like the new features. However, I was very disappointed with the flavor of the coffee. While nice and hot, it was very diluted and had little taste. I used the same amount of coffee that produced a nice, full-bodied brew in my former maker. What happened to the "bold" option? I guess faster coffee does not equal better coffee.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great design I bought this pot about a week ago, trying the thermal carafe. I really liked the removable reservoir and the slide out basket. Also love this version of the freshness timer. It has a very sleek design and it fit perfectly under my counter. After making my first pot of coffee; first cup came out piping hot and the aroma was to die for, but after only 1 hour the second cup was barely even hot. I drink a lot of coffee, usually about 2 - 3 cups a day sometimes more. So I would not recommend this to anyone who drinks a lot of coffee, because you would only get 1 cup of hot coffee. I'm going back to the traditional glass carafe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coffee maker I just replaced my original pot this morning. I guess several years of hard water took it's toll on the water pump. When I purchased the original pot it wasn't because I read the reviews, it was because I was tired of replacing expensive pots. Thermal carafe is a must. It doesn't take long for coffee in a glass carafe on a hot plate to become bitter. That may be OK for someone who adds cream and sugar, but not for black coffee. I like the programmable feature, the removable water tank, and the cleaning feature. The black and stainless matched my appliances and it is inexpensive. This pot lasted far longer than the many expensive pots I tried.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thermal is Best Purchased our first Mr. Coffee 10-cup Thermal Optimal Brew about 2 years ago for use in our RV, mainly because it fit, and because it has a sturdy thermal carafe. We're now sold on the Thermal vs. the glass models: it brews great coffee in about 7 minutes, and we can take the carafe to the table and set it down anywhere where it will stay hot for 2-3 hours. No need for a hot plate. We like the removable 10-cup reservoir too for easy filling and cleaning. Only two issues: 1)the clock display (not in power saver mode) has dimmed to the point where we can only see it in the dark, and 2)the little silicone washer inside the brew basket tends to pop off when cleaning, and so it's easy to lose. I called customer service and was told they cannot supply extra washers, but they would send a new brew basket at no charge. Thanks Mr. Coffee...perhaps the washer on the new one will stay put. Nothing they could do about the dim display since the coffeemaker is over a year old. Not critical since it still works, and we don't use the delay brew. Our 4-yr. old Mr. Coffee glass carafe model which we use daily in our home kitchen has just stopped working (lights up, but won't pump), so I've ordered another Thermal Optimal Brew to replace it. We like it that much. We just hope it's the same, except with a clock display light that'll go the distance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Delay Brew great idea but doesn't usually work Bought this coffee brewer because we needed a removable water tank, we liked the design and we wanted a programmable brew time. We bought the first machine and the delay brew didn't work. Yes, we were doing it right. It would "brew now", we checked the clock time, delay brew light was illuminated and delay brew would work if we set it to brew in like 5 minutes but an over night delay brew it would not. Returned the unit and got a new one. And this delay brew works less than half the time...which means it DOES work some of the time. The machine convinces itself it brewed, it'll have the fresh brew timer on saying it's in the carafe but alas, the carafe is empty. I love the idea of this machine but it's really ticking me off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible plastic taste Purchased this a month ago and, like other coffeemakers I've purchased over the years, this one had an awful smell coming out of the box. Followed the manufacturer's directions, plastic smell still there. Ran a few more water-only cycles and still the plastic smell was still there. Ran a few cleaning cycles, following manufacturer directions, plastic smell still there. Ran a few pots of coffee through, plastic smell and taste still there. I know that plastic smell can't be good. Returning to the store. If i could give this zero stars, I would.
