The new elite retaliator is an excellent successor to the Nerf Recon. The retaliator is basically the same shape, only the inside has a new direct plunger system, giving the blaster twice the power of a Recon. The retaliator is worth the price, and it comes with the gun itself, assault grip, barrel, sturdy stock, and 12 darts and a magazine. Ranges are easily up to 50 feet so I would definately reccomend it!
When I saw this gun, it was when i was buying my friend a long strike for his birthday. I was going to get a recon. i went to his house and he had his friend over and showed me his retaliator. i thought, wow. I went back to target and bought it, and i have no regrets. Mine fires up to 85 ft.
My adult friends and I hold regular Nerf battles in a nearby park, and I have two Nerf Recons--the predecessor to the Retaliator--which I've heavily modded to shoot farther and more accurately. On the way to the last Nerf battle, we stopped at another store and my friend bought a Retaliator for [$] and we were all amazed at its performance. It easily outclassed my modded guns from the previous generation, even when my Recons were using the same darts. Bravo, Nerf.
The nerf retalliator is like a modded nerf recon with an extended magazine or clip and the stock is much durable and sturdy plus a grip which looks more like a custom m4a1 and it just feels so comfortable and the range is so unbelievable since it has a direct plunger system
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DON'T GET THIS GUN. It's quality stinks and it is not very durable. Save 5 dollars more and get the Rampage. It is much better.

I bought this item at my local target and as of right now I am very pleased with the gun. Although it looks a lot like the nerf recon cs6, it performs like a modded recon with a magazine to add that little extra touch to make it look like an assault rifle. It is not semi auto so you have to prime the weapon each time you want to shoot. My only problem with the retaliator is when the cocking mech got stuck mid way through the priming process. But other than that it is a very well built and well thought out nerf gun. I recommend this to anyone who wants a long lasting, fun, and cool nerf gun.
