The album's concept is stated in its opening: the noise of an Internet connection is followed by a testimony of a humble boy, a percussionist of the streets of Northeast; follows a maracatu-heavy metal fusion "A ponte." Lenine is interested in building a "bridge" between us Brazilians and the rest of the universe - the choice of a real bridge in Recife where he began the homonymous tour was not at random. The fact is that he is not alone in that endeavor - since the Tropicália times, this obsessive idea is in the mind of every other Brazilian composer. The unanswered question remains: up to which point this frenetic search represents freedom, or mean submission? Leaving philosophy aside, the album is quite danceable and entertaining. Its highs are "Candeeiro encantado," "O dia em que faremos contato" and the hit "Hoje eu quero sair só." The nostalgic "Distantes demais" and "Aboio avoado" capture the attention for dispensing all percussion in favor of a poetic duo of violão/accordion and an alla capella rendition, respectively. "O marco marciano" brings the beautiful sonority of the Northeastern viola freed from the obsessive dancing beat. The ingenuous "Mote do navio" announces optimistically "a barca", the ship: in Lenine's mind, the people's redemption. Alvaro Neder, Rovi
