Omron 7 Series Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor with Cuff - Fits Standard and Large Arms is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Moron 7 series Blood Pressure Monitor The blood pressure monitor is easy to use, works over a shirt sleeve, keeps track of multiple measurements. Also, the cuff is easy to put on one-handed. The next time I visit the clinic, I'll compare the reading to the one they do to get a feel for the accuracy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and accurate I originally bought myself this model on another site, after my doctor recommended this brand. I liked it so well that I bought one from Target for a relative. The device is easy to use, and I particularly appreciate the coiled cuff that makes it easier to apply without needing an extra hand. Operation is easy and the results are easy to interpret. Not only does it display the values, it even lights up small indicator lights to display inside or outside of normal range. It also retains recent values in case you want to scroll back to review them. My monitor seems to correlate with my doctor's readings, and my relative actually took it to his doctor's office to compare it found it to be accurate. Note that although there is a plug for a power supply, it does not come with one, however you can buy one from the manufacturer. I have not found that to be a problem because the original batteries from 3 months ago are still hanging in there, according to the display.

    • What do the numbers actually mean?

      • Systolic Pressure is the top number.
It represents the pressure as your heart contracts to pump blood to the body.
      • Diastolic Pressure is the bottom number.
It's the pressure between beats, when your heart relaxes.

    • Small Changes, Huge Rewards

Managing your high blood pressure doesn't have to take a lot of work. In fact, small improvements to your lifestyle can significantly better your heart. Here's what you can do:

      • Exercise: Jus be a little more active. Walk instead of drive; take the stairs instead of the elevator; and count your steps to a healthier heart.
      • Eat Smart: Try to find low-fat, low-sodium substitutes that also taste great. Potassium found in bananas and carrots is nature's best medicine for your heart.
      • Kicking the Habits: Minimize your alcohol and cigarette intake. If you're going to have a drink try red wine, which, in moderation, is better for your heart.
