Omron Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor - 7 Series is rated 4.6216 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from stay away from this model! I had an earlier series 3 wrist monitor that worked great over the years. Last week I thought I had lost it so ordered a newer 652 that looked a lot like the earlier model - compact but still kind of boxy but still used the convenient spring wrist cuff. What I received instead was one of these new devices, the 652N. It is very small, very flat, very quiet and VERY INACCURATE! Instead of ease of quickly slipping the spring cuff over your wrist and pulling over the short Velcro strap, this new version requires that you loosen an endless cuff, insert your hand and then somehow keep the device in the device in correct position while using your free hand to tighten the Velcro cuff. All of this by itself does not make this a total loser but the wildly inaccurate readings will make you think you're going to stroke out! Well I went and ordered one of Omron's better arm cuff devices which is really the better way to measure your BP and in the meantime the older wrist device turned up. Now both of these devices (older wrist and new arm) provide consistently accurate readings, usually 1 or 2 mm of each other. The 652n looks like it has very good potential but I believe that it's small size and silent operation simply cannot get decent radial wrist artery pressure measurements. Certainly not ready for prime time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well designed product This model replaced an Omron monitor that was over 10 years old. It is easier to use and far more accurate than my older model. I especially like how the indicator light changes to blue when the monitor is properly positioned. A very beneficial feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Omron Intellisense 7 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor We purchased this Omron Intellisense 7 wrist blood pressure monitor a few weeks ago and have found it to be very accurate and easier to use than other similar types of blood pressure monitors. Great buy for the money. Thank you Target.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Easy to use Had this for 2 weeks the quick start gets you going in a couple of minutes. Nor sure why some people would down grade their rating because it does not download to a computer since you should know that before ordering . It would be nice if it did this but it never claims it.

Facts about Blood Pressure

  • Facts about blood pressure

Your heart. It's your most important organ. That's why it's always a good idea to know how well it's doing. With Omron® Home Blood Pressure Monitors, you consistently get an accurate picture of your heart's health.

One in three people suffer from high blood pressure in America. That can lead to:

    • Heart attack
    • Stroke
    • Kidney failure
    • Blindness

Don't let yourself be that one in three. Take the right steps to decrease your risk of heart disease and increase your life expectancy. Monitor your blood pressure at home with the new Omron® Home Blood Pressure Monitor.

  • What do the numbers actually mean?

Systolic Pressure is the top number.
It's the pressure as your heart contracts to pump blood to the body.

Diastolic Pressure is the bottom number.
It's the pressure between beats, when your heart relaxes.

Manage your blood pressure. By consulting this chart regularly, you'll know whether your blood pressure is within normal range or if you should consult with your doctor. That way, you’ll feel better about your health, and better about yourself.

  • Small Changes, Huge Rewards

Managing your high blood pressure doesn't have to take a lot of work. In fact, small improvements to your lifestyle can significantly better your heart. Here's what you can do:
    • Exercise: Just be a little more active. Walk instead of drive; take the stairs instead of the elevator; and count your steps to a healthier heart.
    • Eat Smart: Try to find low-fat, low-sodium substitutes that also taste great. Potassium found in bananas and carrots is nature's best medicine for your heart.
    • Kicking the Habits: Minimize your alcohol and cigarette intake. If you're going to have a drink try red wine, which, in moderation, is better for your heart.
    • Stifle Your Stress: Stress is a normal part of life. But too much can increase the risk of heart disease. Relax by doing things you enjoy (yoga, gardening, walking, etc.) and your heart will benefit.
