On the occasion of the return to Broadway of A Chorus Line, this book, released in its second edition, tells the stories of 19 of its original cast members, with updates on their lives during the past 16 years in a brief appendix. Encompassing 1974 to 1990, the main text recounts the show's inception, how it was based on the actors' lives, their workshops, rehearsals, the Broadway run, and the Tony Awards. Lee and Walsh were original cast members of the show, and Viagas, founder of the news service for Playbill Online, co-authored The Amazing Story of The Fantasticks and edited The Alchemy of Theatre: The Divine Science: Essays on Theatre and The Art of Collaboration and The Playbill Broadway Yearbook.
