Rated 4 out of 5 by from Picture is great I tried to get this player up and running for 2 days and finally hit on the right way. Would not accept HDMI but used the RCA cord that came with the unit. Finallly could watch PAL video of a well known German entertainer and it was great. Color was great and picture was sharp. Would recommend this machine and the price was right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Price Isn't All That's Cheap... I bought this DVD player a few months ago because it was the cheapest HDMI DVD player I could find. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for with this model! The quality was never impressive and now it seems to have stopped working altogether. Less than a year old and it will not play my DVDs. This is the third Philips product I've had trouble with in the past year. I have lost faith in this brand. I advise anyone reading this to spend a few extra bucks and get a better brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product failure Purchased this product to be used only once a month or so. Worked just fine one time, but the next month the disk holder would not open. Since the unit failed more than 90 days from purchase date the warranty was no good. One use is not a good track record.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unusable I never actually got to USE the product as it doesn't come with any of the connector cables. So much for a great deal!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I had a very specific problem with this device Bought this DVD player specifically to play photo slideshows, and other footage that needed to play on a continuous loop. Quickly discovered that although the player does have a repeat function, you cannot use it without a small (but noticeable and annoying) icon remaining on the screen. I thought it would fade after a few seconds, but it just sat there while the clip repeated. Not even in the corner, kind of in the upper middle. After reading the manual and finding no solution, I called customer service and they eventually told me that there was no way to make the icon go away. It's there to "let you know you're in repeat mode". Well then. So yeah, needless to say I returned it. The player seemed to work fine for the whole ten minutes I used it, but what a bizarre design flaw! Wouldn't effect most people, but if you're looking to play slideshows, I would recommend another product. I went back and bought the Sony DVPSR210P which was in the same price range, and it suits my purposes just fine so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY!! DO NOT buy this product. Bought one on Friday and Saturday the sound was all funky and wouldn't play right. Took it back and exchanged it for the last one on the shelves. Came home plugged it in and it doesn't even work. This product is a piece of JUNK!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My first Philips anything OMG wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Bought today. I was a bit upset that the video/audio cord wasn't even included in the box. Luckily I had an extra. Unit is very light, not solid. Easy to set up. Used once, good picture, sound, etc. Hoping no issues.
