Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fire Hazard once it starts to die I had this dryer for about a year. Since I purchesed it, I noticed a reaccuring theme: I would plug it in and it wouldn't start, I had to keep hitting the reset button (the red button) on the dryer cord to get it to start working. Yesterday I noticed a slight burning smell and then today I noticed the smell was stronger, it kept "sputtering", and the heat started to get hotter and hotter. Unfortunatly, now the whole house smells like something burnt. I didn't see any smoke like the others but I was worried that it would catch on fire and tossed it. I realize hair dryers die after a while but they shouldn't become a fire hazard when they do. This will be the last time I buy a revlon product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Purchase I bought this at most 6 weeks ago from my local target and this morning it started to make strange noises and then smelled like a fire had started. Sure enough, it was shooting some sparks out. I unplugged it, let it cool off, and took it back to the store. I didn't have a receipt or box, but they kindly took it back for store credit. This is the second Revlon dryer I've had issues with. I won't buy from this brand again, and am hoping they'll recall at least this model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Electrical cord sparked and burnt up Same problem as some of these other reviews....I had this hairdryer a little over a year. It would stop intermittently. One day I was using and it sparked and blew the outlet. The cord had literally been burnt from the end of the hairdryer. I tried a different Revlon hairdryer and had the same problem. Do NOT buy Revlon hairdryers unless you want burnt up cords and electrical issues!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burnt my hair! This hair dryer is terrible. I used it at my sister's house and it completely singed the hair I was drying at the time OFF. I usually don't write reviews, but I'm writing this as a cautionary for anyone who might buy it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT Buy! I bought this hair dryer yesterday and used it this morning. After using it for about 20 seconds the hair dryer stopped working and the plug started buzzing in the outlet. I tried plugging it back in a few hours later and it immediately just buzzes. I will be returning this ASAP!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped working after 3 months casual use I looked for a while before breaking down and buying a hair drier. I have curly hair so I needed a diffuser. I use Revlon products, and I loved the style of the drier (not flashy pink or boring brown) and when I opened the box the diffuser especially (but both, really) seemed like excellent quality. I also liked that it had the hot and cool shots. (Although found position hard to use.) I only used this drier occasionally (once a week or every other week since I can't wash may hair daily.) And when I did use it, it was only for a few minutes. I bought it in April of this year, and it crapped out maybe late June, early July. A waste of money! I'm calling Revlon customer service to tell them 800-473-8566 but the call center is having technical difficulties! Suggestion: seems like a pattern, so buy another brand. I'm getting Conair next time!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really surprised at the quality My local Target didn't have the Remington dryer that I wanted, so I got this one, which has a turbo speed (that I loved on my Remington) Got this one out of the box and immediately realized that, although it had almost exactly the same specs, this was no equal to my old dryer. First of all, the moment I turned it on for the very first time, some loose plastic rattled inside (when the fan started spinning -- not a good sign) My old Remington did the same thing this morning, then promptly died, but that was after *two* years, not right out of the box. Needless to say, when I heard that, I was alarmed. Then, trying to turn it on was unnecessarily difficult because of the design of the on and heat-level buttons. They are actually sliders, and are so flush to the dryer itself, and so tightly fastened, that I actually strained my thumb attempting to turn it on. But I'm not done yet. For me, here is the WORST part: The turbo button has to be held down for the entire time you're using it!!! How can you switch hands or pick up styling instruments, etc. while twisting yourself into the pretzel, trying to hold down the turbo button??? I use rollers and a bonnet-attachment to dry my hair. Holding down the turbo button for 45 minutes is ridiculous. It's such a simple design choice that probably costs less to use than the hold-it-down-or-it's-off one they have burdened this dryer with. This thing is so poorly thought out -- and built, apparently -- that I'm actually surprised it's not been recalled, based on the reviews. Needless to say, it's going right back where it came from.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not good I bought this model dryer last year, it last three months. I returned it to Target. They refunded my money. I had the receipt and box. I purchased the same model after the return of the defective one. I have had it about three months and it is doing the same thing the other one did. I plugged into the socket today and it made a loud buzzing sound. I smelled something burning. I will be returning this one for a refund and will be choosing a different brand to purchase.
