I am so surprised that people haven't figured out how to hang these lights! We have had ours up since 2007 when I had a huge graduation party for my daughter. NO lights have broken... no lights have even burned out and we use them ALL the time. The key... TAKE ALL THE BULBS OUT before you hang your strings... get it the way you want it before putting the bulbs in. This takes a bit of time but it's SO worth it and they look fantastic. These are great lights. They look so nice in our yard and eve ryone always comments on them.

I hung up 8 boxes of these lights, 200 bulbs, without breaking one bulb. All you have to do is unscrew the bulbs before removing wiring from packaging, hang up wire string, and screw bulbs on later. Lights looks awesome and 160 feet of globe lights for 120 dollars, can't beat that price. Great purchase!

I decided to give these a try because they are such a good buy. I followed the advice of others and took all the bulbs out BEFORE hanging them. Then I went back and put the bulbs in and I had zero problems. I went back and bought two more strands and hung them also with no issues. These lights look really good and are an amazing value. If I could add another star for the value I would cause similar products cost like 3x more per strand. I would not hesitate to buy these again. Just take the bul bs out before hanging and you'll have no problems.

I bought these for my outdoor wedding. They worked perfectly and looked beautiful. After reading the reviews I was nervous about these, but they weren't as fragile as everyone made them out to be. I took out all of the bulbs to hang to wires in the trees and replaced them. I also can't imagine how some people broke them getting them out of the package since, the packing is made so that you have to remove the bulbs from the wires. With care and awareness that they are glass lightbulbs, they are perfect and exactly what I was looking for.

We bought 10 of these because a friend suggested them since she had 5 from the previous year and loved them for our back yard Baby Shower and BBQ Dinner. We hung them with nylon string across the yard from tree to tree and strung over 350 ft of these and we did it and tested them over 3 weeks prior to the even to make sure they were going to work. They were spectacular! Not only did they hold up well under weather conditions but they were brighter than we had originally anticipated so we didnt have to use flood lights during the party! Oustanding for the price! Great Buy!

I've relied on Target forever with great success, but this purchase was a horrible waste of money. One star is too generous for a rating.Three lights didn't work out of the box and six bulbs broke and scattered glass shards all over our deck within the first hour. Do NOT purchase these lights. I honestly cannot believe the reviews that claim their lights have been hanging unscathed for years let alone a few hours.

I wish I read the reviews for these lights before buying them. I thought since they were lights they would be fine, no need for a review. However, I screamed at my husband thinking he was being too rough with the lights when we were hanging them, but then when three of them broke when I was barely moving with these lights I learned quickly that these lights were way too fragile. I noticed that after one of them broke in my hand, it began to smoke also. I would not recommend anyone buying the se lights!!!! In a matter of 20 minutes we had four lights break...total waste money! I am very disappointed with this product and will think twice before buying lights here again. I actually didn't want to register any stars with this product, however the system made me put a star in before it would post this review.

We put these up probably 5 years ago, and one strand finally bit the dust, so I'm headed back to Target for a replacement. Something I learned a long time ago - take bulbs out before you hang. We all drop the string at one time or another, and when we do, the bulbs that hit the ground shatter. We had no prob with needing spare bulbs, but if they're like the old-fashioned C-7 Xmas lights, it's the same price to buy replacements as it is to buy a new string of lights, so no biggie there. Enjo y!

Significant Other packs holidays items like a disinterested box boy at a market yet ours survived this from last year.I have mixed rice lights, standard miniatures and these on our tree and I like the effect. I found the clear ones way too brash of a light, and would think that it would be the same outdoors, though I have not tried this. The frosted globes really are somewhat different and pleasant light. I had no problem with breakage, but I have had three burn out by this years decorating. Replacement bulbs are a real hunt. It is a 7 watt Candelabra base, the same base as the C7, like the older standard lights one used on a tree. It is an unusual light, which is what drew me to them, and with this you have to hunt for replacements like this.

We have had the same string hung for 2 years on our windy, lakefront porch. Breaking bulbs has not been a problem. I buy whole strings when I want to replace bulbs. The price of the string causes the bulbs to be very reasonable. Especially if you can't find any. This way the string stays up and any one can replace a bulb.
