When I received the curtains, I was a little disappointed in they were so stiff, smelly, and wrinkled. After washing them, they are one of my favorite curtains. They make a room dark, and noticeably cooler. Worth the price.
My bedroom window faces the west so whenever the sun starts to set my room heats up like crazy. The main reason so much heat gets in my room is because the windows are so old and don't provide any insulation but the curtains make a world of difference. They are also great for keeping the sunlight out!
So worth it! I was skeptical that I wasn't putting much money into a pair of thermal curtains but I needed something to fit in my budget to keep the light out of our nursery to allow my infant to sleep better. These keep the light out wonderfully! They also seem to keep the nursery warmer at night -keeps out the cold during the below 0 temps. When you first receive them they are almost like shower curtains but after one wash- they look like an ordinary curtain. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!! Currently purchasing a pair for my bedroom since I enjoy them so much! Only downfall was the brown color wasn't as rich as I'd hope but still worked great.
I bought one set a while back for my living room to help keep out the light and hopefully keep the heat in. They did both! I returned to Target to get 2 more sets for the 2 bedrooms in my home and they are wonderful! The price was great, they really block out light - which is fabulous since I live in Arizona - and they are helping to keep my house cooler now that the temperatures have started to rise. The only issue I have is I wish they came in more colors. However, that is merely an aesthetic issue, and does not affect their quality or value.
Bought in Navy. Very pretty color. Look great hanging, drapes nicely. Really works to darken and cool the bedroom. I think they are very pretty for a solid color. If you want particularly stylish curtains, buy something else.
These curtains are great for blocking light attempting to pour into our east-facing bedroom window. The material is kind of stiff, and they're a little difficult to get to stay to the sides of the window when you do want light in, but all you need are some curtain tie backs. Over all I recommend them. Plus, they're pretty inexpensive for black-out curtains.
I just got these in the mail today and already they make the room look so great. The material of the curtains are high quality and I like how the curtains are black but when you look through the window, on the other side, the curtains have a white lining so that the sun wont peep through and I heard the white lining prevents fading on the black side when the sun hits it. For the price, it's fabulous! $ bucks for 2 panels of curtains! I'm really happy to find a "set" of curtain panels than to buy them individually and spend more money. They have other colors too so you have choices. I recommend this product.
I purchased 6 panels and, strangely, 4 of them have tufts on the top as shown in the picture, but 2 of them lay flat on the rod without the extra stitch along the top to make the tuft. As the curtains are all in the same room, this presents a problem because they don't match. Also 2 of the curtains with tufts have small tears in the thermal fabric which can be seen when the sun comes through. Will return 4 of the 6, and hope to get matching, untorn replacements.
I am so impressed with the style and beauty of these curtains. They look like a very expensive damask fabric. I am going to order more of these for my new home. AA

I have a large picture window in my living room that gets the sunlight for a majority of the day and living in southern Texas, my a/c would run all the time and that room would still be the warmest in the house because of the sunlight coming through my wooden blinds. I originally looked at the Eclipse brand, but seeing I would need four curtains to cover the window they were a bit pricey at about $ a pop. Then I found these ones which where alot less cost, so of course I was skeptical but grapp ed four of them and tried them out. If they didn't work then I would come back and get the Eclipse brand. I have had them up for alittle over a month and couldn't be happier! They keep my living room nice and cool during the midday heat and block the direct sunlight on that window! The only complaint I have about them is they didn't have as many colors/designs available to choose from as the Eclipse brand did. I would love to have more options to choose from with the Room Essentials brand.
