The late author of the Frances series and British Children's Laureate illustrator of the Roald Dahl stories follows the experiences of a discarded popsicle stick that is picked up by a little girl who dreams about a magical horse that gallops with her through cities, jungles and over an ice-pop mountain leading to a gold-filled pirate chest.
Imagination races through this beguiling picture book like fire. Spying an ice-pop stick, Rosie snatches it up to add to her cigar box collection. However, the ice-pop sticks long to be reunited with their pops, or at least to become something else, say a horse. Playing the sticks and longing for a way to help her parents with their money troubles, Rosie has an amazing dream that night. A horse called Stickerino flies from the cigar box, and takes Rosie on a wild adventure, ending with the discovery of a treasure chest that saves the day. Accompanied by Quentin Blake's fluid line drawings and watercolors.
