Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died after less than a year of light use This little cleaner worked extremely well for its size and cost. It was a bit awkward, but I really liked the handheld part. It was perfect for the occasional pet accident. I even used it in my subcompact car once. It was way to clunky and awkward for that. I bought this in September 2014, today it is dead. I have used it maybe once a month for a few minutes at a time. The dirty water tank was only 1/3 full. The hand unit still gets power and works, but the main unit does not work at all. I tried different outlets and same result - dead. I am pretty sure it is still under warranty, but that is a hassle and I may need it and not have it. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Pet Accidents A spot cleaner is by far the best way to clean up pet accidents (with two small dogs, I speak from vast experience), and the Rug Doctor performs extremely well. My trick: I soak up as much urine as possible, sprinkle the area with baking soda, and then use the Rug Doctor as instructed with distilled white vinegar in place of cleaner. A few passes does the trick, and lastly I run the Rug Doctor's vacuum alone without the spray to suck up any remaining liquid. I could not be happier with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little machine Pros 1. Nice long cord 2. Easy roller handle 3. Does a very thorough job 4. Good suction 5. Easy empty 6. Nice looking machine 7. long hose Cons: 1. Can be difficult to get the cap back on when filling because of the odd shape. 2. Hose storage is awkward. I really like this product. It is well made and easy to use. The clear window maks it really easy to see when the upholstery is clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My new best friend I started using this the day it arrived and have used it almost every day since. I love how it works! I have 3 cats, 2 kids and a husband (har har). It really gets in there and cleans the spot like it never happened. It's easy to use and maintain. I used to clean the spots with a spray and lots and lots of paper towels and the smell of that spray was always lingering around here. I wish I would have bought one of these years ago. It's like my new toy. However, I am a bit concerned about it's longevity. All of the parts are plastic and seem like they could break or crack pretty easily if I am not careful at all times. I'd hate for one hard pull on the hose or too much scrubbing to spell doom for my new toy. The (flimsy) extendable handle that is used for rolling it around on its wheels already has a lot of difficulty retracting for some reason. Time will tell how it holds up but so far (a couple of weeks) I do love it. It cleans extremely well. It stores away easily. I would recommend buying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WONDERFUL! Just returned the other leading brand to another retailer... parts missing, assembly required. This could be used right out of the box. Easy to read directions, easy to clean out after the job. Did a FANTASTIC job of cleaning a dog mess from a week ago that needed to be sucked up. Have used another brand of spot cleaner in the past and no comparison to the ease of use. As far as the spray nozzle, if you spray as you go and not hold it up, it only covers the area you are covering with the suction. Only complaint would be the clean tank could be smaller, as you'd never use up all the cleaner in a one time spot clean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Spot Cleaner. Not the greatest. I would give this product a 3.5 (but there's no option). The suction is strong and it gets dirt out of the carpet. However, the spray nozzle is all over the place and it doesn't directly spray on the spot you want it to. It goes in 3 different directions and it gets frustrating. I ended up using a separate spray bottle to make the task go faster. Also, the motorized brush is not that great. The vibrations is not strong enough to get dirt moving. Good thing the suction is strong enough. I would've returned it but didn't want to have to clean it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is my first spot cleaner machine This is my first spot cleaner machine. What I really wanted was a residential sized carpet/upholstery steam cleaner with professional quality but I couldn't find it anywhere. I started reading reviews and chose this model. It works pretty well, it does spray quite a bit of water, and the suction is good I think. I spot cleaned my sons mattress & couch cushion, they dried rather quickly. It's a bit bulky to use, I couldn't balance it on the mattress as I cleaned it, and the hose isn't very long. But I do like it overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Needed Spot Cleaner for Our Busy Home! The day before I received the Portable Spot Cleaner to review, my son kicked over a full cup of coffee on our main area rug. It wasn't just coffee, either...it was sugar, cream, and coffee, so it was extra sticky and dark, too. I was able to set up the Spot Cleaner quickly and get the stain out the next day...no problems! There was nothing to put together or figure out...just out of the box, add water, plug in, add the cleaner...easy peasy. I love the wheels on the Rug Doctor so I don't have to lug it all over the house. I can zoom from room to room and quickly treat each spot on all the rugs we have...and you know we HAD many! Having three boys makes quite a huge mess very quickly. The massive suction on this thing is impressive. We had stains that were three years old that came out nicely. It also helps that you don't have to wait all day with fans blowing on the carpet and keep the kids off, waiting for it to dry. I also liked the and bristles and retractable handle on the Rug Doctor Spot Cleaner...these features definitely make my job a lot easier. My son also loves using the Spot Cleaner, so that's a definite plus that it's not too hard for him. :) I anticipate that we will be using the Rug Doctor Spot Cleaner many times in the future. It definitely makes freaking out about carpet stains a thing of the past!
