Safety 1St Swing Shut Toilet Lock is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job We got this after my year old son realized he could open the toilet. Now it's been on for almost a year, and we have not had any issues with it. However . . . you MUST hold the base in place and test it multiple times before you stick it on. We put ours off to the right (when facing the toilet) because otherwise, it did force the lid to go closed. Test, test, then test again. Yes, you can grab this and pull it off if you wanted to. But it's only supposed to keep young fingers from opening up the toilet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the price! This has been great. Easy to install and works well with our toddler! He can no longer throw things in the toilet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what we need it to do! I initially didn't want to pay nearly ten bucks for a single toilet lock, but at 8 months my son was already trying to get into the toilets so I knew I had to do something. I have ended up LOVING these locks and they do their job perfectly! Based on some of the negative reviews it seems to me that there's nothing wrong with these toilet locks, but rather the adults who purchased them don't seem to know how to install them correctly. We haven't had a single problem and I've recommended these to friends many times. Follow the directions, it really is that simple.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work My daughter is 2 and got this thing off of the toilet in a matter of a couple days. I followed the instructions exactly, but it didn't hold. Nobody even uses the toilet in her room, so I was hoping this would work well.... nope. I would try a different product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth buying... The only positive thing about this lock is that it actually prevented my son from getting into the toilet. However, it also fit our toilet in a way that forced the lid to close and lock on its own. Basically, every time you tried to use the toilet it closed down on your back. Men have to hold the lid up with one hand to go to the bathroom. To me, it all just seems like a poor design. Save your money, and go with another product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long-Lasting and Strong We kept this on our toilet for the longest time because it was easy to use and held up to our toddler pulling and climbing on it. There was no trouble in our case with the toilet lid staying open. Our biggest complaint would have to be having to teach guests how to use it! Most people saw it and were immediately baffled, but once they saw how it worked they admitted that it was easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this toilet lock! I felt very secure using this lock around my 2 yr old. She is a houdini when it comes to figuring out new things & could not get this one. She also yanked & yanked on it & it wouldn't budge/pop open. Very easy to install, just follow the directions carefully!! You only get one chance, very strong adhesive, which is a good thing. We never had any problems with the lid staying up. With guests, we would simply show them how to operate it & they had no problems after that. I could do it one-handed. ONLY CON/HEADS UP is you do have to push it back manually each time for it to fully lock again, but once you get into the habit, it didn't bother us at all. As for the adhesive, no you don't have to buy a whole new seat afterwards. It just takes quite a bit of patience/elbow grease & gently scraping to get the adhesive off if you ever remove it. Overall, I highly recommend this product & will be buying it again when we move into our next house this fall!
