Inexpensive simple bike bought for flat terrain biking. Single gear so a little bit more effort needed to go up inclines. Simple foot brake. Ordered blue but got red bike instead. Brilliant metallic red, not a single scratch or blemish. Neighbors have commented how retro nice it looks. Now to assembly, the best news is that this bike is so simple that assembly is a few short steps. First, we took the bike out of the box and checked all items were there. Second, tools. We only needed sc issors, a 6mm Allen key, an adjustable wrench, and a Phillips head screwdriver. Third, we lightly installed handlebars and seat, turned the bike upside down to install the front wheel, fenders and foot pedals. Last, we turned bike right side up, checked for alignment of front wheel and handlebars, tightened all the bolts and screws and checked tires were at full pressure.

Bought this bike at Target and they did awesome job of assembly. No dings or sratches. This is a Candy Red paint and looks great. I love the way this bike rides. Similar to my bike in the 50's. I took it to a bike shop to have a front brake added and re pack the hubs with grease just for extra protection. Add a mirror, light and speedometer and you are all set. I like this bike more with each passing day and you will be very happy with such a nice bike at such a great price.

Price was right [...]. Came partially assembled and the rest was easy and I did not need any special tools; just a screwdriver and wrench. There were a few dings on the frame, but nothing that would make me want to return the bike. I prefer Schwinn to others mainly because I've found that the rims are of a better quality. Bottom line ....satisfied w/purchase.

I noticed on most reviews of this bike, people were very unhappy. They said that it was broken when they bought it. Well, i bought this and it was perfect for me. I never saw any problem. I think that in later days they may have fixed earlier problems. Because most of those reviews were in 2008. I got mine around early june 2010, I say they must have had manufacturing problems or store problems with this bike early on and fixed them. I love this bike and i'd recommend it to anyone!

I bought this fully assembled at a Target store. It's great. I road it home. The bright red color is striking and awesome. It's a great value--I paid [$]--for a cruiser WITH fenders. By contrast, the Urban I also own and is one of the most popular "cheap" cruisers is around [$] without fenders. As for all these negative reviews--IT'S A CRUISER. It has coaster brakes. It's not going to stop on a dime. Get over it or get a different bike. Fenders are going to rattle from time to time. Again, IT'S A CRUISER. If you want a cruiser and don't have unrealistic expectations of what this type of bike delivers, then this is a great value. And for all the other issues with wheels, well you didn't put it together correctly. This is a great bike.

I purchased this bike as a present for my father's 57th birthday. He had previously told me how he always wanted a red and white Cruiser when he was a boy so I thought it would be a good suprise. My father loves the bike, he goes riding every weekend with my children but I was a little disappointed that the bike was actually blue and beige and not red and white as shown because I could have purchased the same blue and beige bike cheaper elsewhere. [...] Overall the bike is well put together and sturdy and my father loves it

I read the reviews of this bike and bought it anyway.I plan on changing the wheels out anyway. After an hours worth of riding, I started to hear a noise coming from the rear wheel, pretty much expected this. Being handy with a wrench, I took the wheel off, removed the axle and found the two bearings on the sprocket side had no grease. I applied grease to all bearings and put it back together, problem solved. The front fender rattles but it is a fair deal at the [$] I paid.

I just recently purchased this bike. My first bike after 12 years. I bought the Blue model. I bought it with that it's Schwinn, the quality should be outstanding. Fortunately I haven't had any problems with the rear wheel as others have complained about. But I am a little disappointed with the assemblers as Target. I had found out that the people at Target put the bikes together. They don't come preassembled. I had to ride the bike home when I purchased it, as it wouldn't fit in the car. The bi ke felt really unstable on the ride home. Lots of creaks and groans. I got the bike home and started giving it a once over. Making sure everything is ok. I found lots of the nuts and bolts were loose. I could untighten them with my hand. I'm lucky the bike didn't fall apart on my ride home. But I tightened everything and the bike handles much better. The only real complaint I have is, who ever put the tubes in the tires put them in wrong. I've had the bike less than a week and already had to replace both tubes. The tubes were put in crooked so that the valve stems ended up being sliced open on the rim. I ride my bike to the corner store. I get it home and less than 5 minutes later, both tires are flat. Fortunately that's an easy fix. But, I think target should start taking better care in assembling the bikes.

I was very happy when the salesperson rolled out the Schwinn bike shown in the pix. After reading about the problems of shipping online bike orders I wanted to buy in the store. All looked well, seemed sturdy for my mid aged body. Not since my late teen years had I rode a bike. My first cruise was a disaster! When I went to coast along, I heard what sounded like dice rolling in the rear axel. I checked the bike, all was tight and sound. Picked it up by the rear of the saddle/seat and rotated th e pedals and there it was again. A horrible sound that shouldn't be!Bike went right back to the store, got a full refund. What happened to that Schwinn quality I knew as a young bike rider! Shame! This bike buying situation is turning out horrible. But the folks at Target were great.

This bicyle was purchased in good faith because of a belief in quality of Schwinn name. Had to replace the brand new rear inner tube before bike was functional. There was a problem with the rear wheel that locked up the coaster brake without warning. Ater having the bike repaired for problem at Bike World, shortly thereafter the bike's rear tire became worn through from having to drag the bike home with a locked up brake some three miles when problem recurred.
