Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK but not better than lower priced Shark models and definitely not as good as Dyson I really like Sharks as a less expensive and lighter alternative to Dyson. I have them in about 15 vacation rentals that I manage and have tried all the various ones (the red & white, the dark blue, the periwinkle blue, the gold). I like all of those. This is my first orange one and I actually bought it for my own personal house and was giving my mother my 5 year old Dyson. After using this for a week I can say this just is not going to cut it for me, I could tell the suction was weaker on hardwood floors (slightly sticky cracker crumbs stayed on floor) and the real deal breaker was that it could not clean my daughter's pink Ikea high pile (shag) rug. The Dyson had no trouble with that shag area rug but this machine got stuck and made a sad screaming sound so we decided to not force it, for fear of breaking the machine or tearing up the rug. I am relegating this to a rental house and getting myself a new Dyson. I think the red & white Shark is better than this one (the professional lift away version). I even like the cheaper gold one better than this. Not sure what this one's strong points are meant to be, since it has a higher price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! THIS IS THE REAL DEAL Really impressed with this thing. I seriously can't believe how much dirt it picks up. It's actually kind of scary. Moved into a rental duplex and I personally steam cleaned the carpets before i moved in. Thought all was good, until I ran my new shark over the entire place and it picked up a ton of dirt. I just makes me sick to think how dirty some people live. Unreal. Anyways, this thing rocks. Lightweight, has some LED lights on the front, maneuvers really well, and just piece of mind to know that dust isn't blowing out the other end. The filtration is awesome. This thing is worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Love this Vacuum! This was super easy to install! 3 clicks and done. I had an old vacuum that didn't work well anymore and boy did I notice when I used this one! I do not have much carpet in my house and I filled the whole thing up going over my home. It got a lot of debris off my couch as well I have a cat that sheds a lot and it got everything! It drags you a bit but that tells me it's working right, It also went from carpet to tile to hardwood floor with ease! I also have my cats litter box on a hardwood floor and it got all the litter up without spraying all over the room. I read the reviews before buying and I am glad I did nothing but good things without paying all the money for a dyson. The only con is the cord for extending attachments does not go too far and the vacuum tips over. but overall I love the decision I made to buy this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shark is the best I had another Shark vacuum which I gave to my parents because it was so light. I finally ordered me a replacement and love it. I will probably only buy Sharks from now on. The handheld option is a little heavy for me, but I doubt I will use it much anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Fall for Their Sales Pitch and "Great Reviews" Don't buy any shark products! I purchased this vacuum in May of this year after researching (I thought) what would give me the best bang for my buck when it comes to vacuums. As a college student I don't have a lot to spend but wanted something that would keep my carpets looking nice. I didn't start using the vacuum until July when I moved from a home with all wood and vinyl to an apartment with brand new carpet. Now it won't pick anything up at all. I tore it apart myself, cleared all blockages, and cleaned all the parts, it still wouldn't work. After trying to chat online with customer service I was told to call their 1-800 number. On the front of my vacuum the stickers read: "Never Loses Suction," and "5-Year Warranty!" After troubleshooting with the representative and taking apart every single piece of the vacuum to check for blockages or holes in the hose (again), he tells me that all he can suggest is that, "I try not to suck up large amount of debris at one time." I live in a small apartment. There are just two of us that live here. I'm vacuuming to maintain a clean home, I'm not utilizing this as a shop vac. After I explained that his suggestion was not a suitable response to my problem, he offered I pay to send them my vacuum while they work on it an ship it back which could take months for repairs, or I could purchase a new one at a "reduced price" and pay to ship it. So my vacuum that wasn't supposed to lose suction and have a five year warranty, now doesn't suck, and the warranty consists of buying a new one (after only 4 months of use) or waiting an extensive amount of time for them to repair the one I have. Never purchasing from them again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ouch!!! I was soooo looking forward to loving my new vacuum. I have to say it worked great for the first 3 minutes- picking up every speck on my carpet. Then it shocked me. I thought it was static electricity at first but then it kept happening. Zapping my left with every glide. That can't be ok. I packed it up and took it back. I was glad to see there was another one in stock. I did an even exchange and brought it home - still determined to love my new vacuum. Low n behold same problem. I googled and found out that there were similar complaints online. I called Shark customer service. He denied knowing about any problem with it shocking people. I'm taking it back tomorrow. Not sure if I'll try my luck on a different model or not. Sadly disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best vacuum! Love this vacuum! The suction is great, and it picks up all the cat hair off the carpet easily. I tried a Dyson first, and the attachments were so annoying to use on that one. This vacuum switches back and forth easily from bottom suction to attachments. Perfect!
