Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed After reading all these positive reviews, I was looking forward to this product but it was a let down. I needed headphones at work to drown out ambient noise, but not necessary noise cancelling. These headphones are very uncomfortable no matter how I adjust them. Then even with them covering my ears, I can hear my co worker typing away two cubicles away WHILE the music is playing. I ended up returning them and bought a pair of Sony earbuds for $14.99 and they work much better than these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from they were good..... I bought these for my 16 year old daughter. She like them until she lost the detachable cable. Now she can not use them. I will not purchase these again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Staging This is our review of the Skullcandy Hesh 2 headsets. First off, the Hesh 2 provides a very enjoyable listening level Any can turn the volume up with no distortion, and at low levels the sound has good punch. The quality of the headsets are excellent with soft leather ear cups, hard plastic encasing the headsets; with a rubberized crown that is very comfortable. After two hours at listening to music, there were no adverse affects, such as irritated, or distressed ear lobes. No discomfort was associated with these headsets. They are big ,but weight does not seem to be a factor in wearing them. The sound quality of the Hesh 2 is surprisingly good, displaying a wide range of imaging. Accompanying this is the frequency separation, and clarity. All sounds were reproduced cleanly, and clearly. A perfect example would be to listen to Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”. We could not find better headphones, as we compared the Sennheiser HD 238, Ear Pollution,, iHome iB45, and even David Clarke 100A to the Hesh 2. Naturally, the Davis Clarke 100A stand alone, and not many can touch the quality of these headsets. Irrespective of David Clarke, Skullcandy Hesh 2 are an outstanding buy, backed by a limited lifetime warranty. One nice feature we like is that the 3.5 mm. cable disconnects from the headset. Many a time have we separated the wire from the headset while moving in the wrong position. However, no concern here, in the fact of the detachable 3.5 mm. cable; ‘with gold tips’. Timbre is presented as a distinguishing feature and linearity is extremely good. Total harmonic distortion at 0.1 % is unnoticeable. The sound pressure level at 105 dB is ample, providing enough thump at lower levels. You can crank up the sound at minimal levels to obtain more than enough power. This aspect was missing from the other brands we tested. We had to turn the volume up at significantly higher levels to obtain a deeper, louder ambiance; including bass. Again, we did not notice any of these aspects in the Hesh 2. Impedance of the Sennheiser HD 238 is at 32 Ω. as the Skullcandy stands at 35 Ω . Whether this is relevant as to the ‘loudness’ is uncertain. Physics plays a significant role here, and we wish not to move into this area. However, these Skullcandy Hesh 2 are an outstanding buy and seem to be the benchmark of quality. *One aspect we could not understand was an issue concerning a ‘line logger’. While attaching the 3.5 mm cable, we could not detect a strong signal coming from the headset, “very faint”. We “reversed” the 3.5 mm cable and the signal was normal. This appears to be ’reverse polarity’, which in the realm of reality is difficult to comprehend. Naturally, this line logger is connected to our audio out terminal. We tried an abundance of headsets and discovered varying examples of faults associated with this problem. No issues concerning sound coming from 2.1 speakers, so it is clearly evident that the fault lies in the headsets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Good Product This is a good product Good Sound Quality Hardware I will be returning them though. I don't know if its my ears or something but after 10 or so minutes my ears start to hurt. I'm assuming its the way they are sitting on my ears.
