Arrested for unbelievably answering all twelve questions on the Indian game show, "Who Will Win a Billion?" semi-literate waiter Ram Mohammad Thomas explains to his lawyer how he knew the answers due to events in his personal life.
Ram Mohammad Thomas is a penniless orphan who has never attended school or even read a book. So how did he manage to win the grand prize on the Indian game show "Who Will Win a Billion?"? That is what the corrupt officials who run the show want to know, so they throw Thomas in jail until he can explain how he knew the answer to every question they asked him. Ram is forced to tell his life story, with each question introducing a new and more incredible episode of his amazing life. He was abused and abandoned as a baby, taunted mercilessly at the orphanage, nearly crippled at his foster home, and almost killed by a phony diplomat. But, proving that what does not kill us makes us stronger, Thomas emerges from each encounter with a new bit of knowledge that will one day earn him riches beyond his wildest dreams.
