JustPlumCrazy Brings back memories - This brings back memories from my younger days. My parents had on the mantle and I would love to swing the balls and watch it. This is definitely an oldie but a goodie and is a great gift for everyone on your holiday list. Disclosure: I was sent a sample in exchange for an honest review. All opinions shared are mine and mine alone.

theteacherswife Looks amazing in our collection! - My son is wildly obsessed with Newton's Cradle so I was excited to have the opportunity to review this product! I highly value educational products -especially ones that are fun like this one! Kids can't resist the urge to make it swing! The set takes only a few moments to put together out of the packaging, and it is SO incredibly reflective and shiny at first I thought the base was made of metal! (It's plastic.) It's a really great set though and larger than I was expecting! Definitely a great gift for kids and adults alike! It will make a stunning new addition to our office.

About this item

Highlights

  • Learn about Newton’s Third Law of Motion: For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction.
  • Watch how momentum and energy are transferred from one side of Newton’s Cradle to the other.
  • Observe how potential (“stored”) energy becomes kinetic energy.
  • Observe what happens when you change the combination of balls you swing.
  • Try simple experiments with coins to demonstrate Newton’s First Law of Motion: An object at rest tends to stay at rest; an object in motion tends to stay in motion.

Description

Swing one ball or two, and observe what happens on the other end. Based on Sir Isaac Newton’s Third Law of Motion, Newton’s Cradle lets you witness for yourself how for every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. Perform various experiments to observe the law in action. STEM content includes biographical information on Sir Isaac Newton and explains concepts including matter, mass, momentum, inertia, force, centripetal force and Newton’s three laws of motion. Ages 8+.
