SOL REPUBLIC Amps HD In-Ear Headphones - Black (1161-31) is rated 4.23 out of 5 by 100.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it. And my explaination. Basically, I am not expert on earphone and this is my second earphone before the free earphone taken together with my smartphone which is sony's. After I listened to this once, immediately you will notice this earphone is really good ( bass is strong, and sound is balance ). But they don't fit well in my right ear. Until now, my bro bought a Sennheiser Momentum In-ear. I tested it (3rd earphone I've tested until now) and found that it is better in some case for Sol Republic Amps HD. Like, its vocal is definitely better than Amps HD, which is cleaner and more soul on it. Then, the bass is quite the same or maybe lack in some case. I will only describe the Momentum as clean vocal. And for the Amps HD, it is noisier, not the bad noise. I felt that it has strong bass and the background music is heavier also which in term noisier. I can't found any review for Amps HD vs Momentum In-ear so this is just my own opinion. If you like the design of Sol's, I would recommend you just buy it. You can't compare so much to other earphone. All earphone at this price range is very good already.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These earphones really rock... What a bass... Good job guys... I am using this on my android phone. The only problem identified was volume (up/down) don't work on android. Anyways, this earphone is primarily intended to work for iphone. Rest of all works perfectly. Another minor thing, the earphone wire is bit heavy dragging the earphone down. I personally don't care about weight. In terms of sound, this is the best I have heard for this price. i don't think even beats/monster/jbl could produce such a earphone for this price. Bass is even (not distorting) on high volume. Recommendation: I wish you come up with a music player for android where buttons work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved the Sound, Hated the Durability. To be clear, the sound on these headphones are amazing. They are my second pair, my first pair I've had for about 4 years before I lost them. The bass is super strong, however not extremely tight. The mids and highs are good as well. That being said, the durability is horrible. I've read reviews on the durability of these earphones, and taking the chance I purchased a pair. I regret so much... Withing two weeks of purchase, the earphones broke. Now, keep in mind I take great care of my earphones, and I used the case provided inside another smaller accessory bag. HOWEVER it is easy to see a design flaw of the headphone. Because of it's angled shape, it leaves it extremely susceptible to breakage at the point where the projecting part connects to the round base. The first time it broke, the headphones were in my case. Pulling them out after a suitcase trip, I had found that under the weight one side had simply broken at the vertex of the angle. Superglued, and fixed it. Then, the second side had broken IN MY SLEEP, I rolled over. Because they project out of your ears some bit, the minimal weight of MY HEAD cause the second, unbroken side to break at the vertex as well. Same place on both sides. Superglued, fixed. Finally, in the second month of use, my earphones broke at the volume/pause/play button. I had noticed the cord pulling out a bit, and one day after taking the earphones out of my case, the cord got caught on the rubber case. Now, realize that it takes minimal force to take them out of the open mouthed case, and minimal force was applied. The wire then split and pulled apart from its loose position. I didn't want to leave a bad review. But honestly, I'm leaving it to warn relatives bought this for me at my request, and I don't wish to bother them to get me another pair. Honestly, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DEPEND ON YOUR WARRANTY when it comes to your earphones. They should not break after 2 weeks, 3 weeks, then become unusable in one month. Don't buy these. Buy some other ones from Sony or even the other ones on the site that are not curved. Unless, you are open to waiting a week every month because you had to receive a new pair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The jack touched the sound will be in and out. I just bought this item today and I changed the item once and they are agreed that the item is faulty then they changed the same item but the new one. And I tried again but it still like that I think this is the way that developed? Please give me some good reason why the item is like that. Thank you

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Sound, Terrible Build. Sound quality is good, unfortunately the build quality is not worth its price. I have bought cheaper set of earphones before that lasted me way longer than this pair. I had to do two warranty exchanges in less than a year because the right earpiece keeps getting busted. My honest advice is stay away from this model and go get another brand or spend a little bit more money and get the tracks or tracks hd instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great sound but horrible durability! I went through 3 pairs of these earphones in a year!! All stopped working and not impressed. A little more than a year ago I brought my Amps HD and was unbelievably impressed by the sound quality. I was in love with them and looked after them with so much care, not causing any physical damage to them at all. Unfortunately, about half a year later the left side of the earphones stopped working. It just happened over night, from listening to music in bed to waking up in the morning and not being able to use them. I was quite horrified at the time but luckily a replacement was sent hassle free.... But then it happened again! After about 5 months from receiving the second pair, the right side of the earphones stopped making sound. On the day before the warranty expired I was able to make another claim, and later received Amps #3. And guess what... They encountered the exact same problem after 3 months! Either I got extremely unlucky with manufacturing errors or theres something seriously wrong with the build quality of these earphones. My stock apple earphones lasted me about 4 years and I didn't even take care of them! The lifespan of Amps HD is very disappointing for a premium product.
