I bought this as a stippling brush for liquid foundation. It's the cheapest thing ever. I used it for maybe three weeks and the brush head literally fell out of the handle. It was OK for applying foundation, but the quality is just awful. When the brush head fell out, you could see how it was just lightly glued into the handle. What a waste of money.
I got this brush because I desperately wanted/needed a duo fibre brush so I could stipple my foundation (Revlon Colorstay with SoftFlex---LOVE!). While I was in the store I opened a couple of brushes and tested them, and every brush I opened shed. The brush is soft and fairly dense, but it sheds like crazy, both when it's dry and while you're washing it.I used it anyway, and it did a good job applying my foundation. It's a smaller brush, so it takes a little longer to get a full face of even co verage, but on the plus side it gets into the creases around your nose and in between your eyes fairly easily. I stippled it on one area at a time and it looked even. Not airbrushed, but even. Of course, I had to spend a few minutes wiping all the little black hairs off, but after doing that and setting it with powder, my face looked great.I would recommend this brush to someone who had no other immediate options. I wanted to try the E.L.F. Stipple brush first but couldn't find it. I would say that while this is a decent brush, the shedding is annoying, so I would try the E.L.F. brush or maybe a Sephora brush first if you have the option to.
I don't understand all of the bad reviews because I really like this brush. I bought it to apply foundation and it gave a total airbrush effect and looked very soft and natural. Maybe it's the combination of products or technique that is causing the problems for the other reviewers. I've experienced no shedding or other quality problems with this brush. I love all of Sonia's brushes that I've tried so far.
I had high hopes for this brush! I needed a cheaper version of the [...], and this was definitely cheaper. I swear, half the bristles came out the 2nd time I used it. It's going back. I'll have to invest in the [...] one.
The problem with this brush is, you load it up with product and I usually use it for foundation. The miniute you put it against your face it flattens coz the bristles are too long. So, no good for me. Sorry Kashuk.
I'm very displeased with this brush. i wanted a good foundation brush to stipple my[....] colorstay with softflex foundation, but it's not dense enough so it fails and sheds on my face. the bristles are too soft and don't work. I'm sorry to say that this brush is not good for this purpose at all, it doesn't even apply my bronzer well. I'm taking it back.
I noticed a few days after when applying my foundation little synthetic brush hairs started spreading on spots on my face. Not good blending. Annoying. It blends ok, that's it. This brush isn't great, praise-worthy, etc. It's just an OK brush. Don't spend your money on this, I recommend flat top brushes for perfect, flawless foundation. The Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Top Multipurpose Brush is a good buy! [...........................]

Just to start off, this is not a good brush for foundation!! Don't even consider it. The larger "Highlighting Brush" from Sonia Kashuk works wonders because it has a denser base and more fibers to catch product. It also will stipple and blend (if you choose to blend) much smoother and it has a larger size to buff with. However, this smaller duo fibre brush would be amazing for cream blushes or bronzers or highlighters. While the actual highlighter brush is meant for those things, the brush itself is a bit large for just the cheek area. This brush is perfect for blending a product like NARS' The Multiple cream sticks which are commonly used as blush, or like MAC's Vanilla pigment as a highlighter.
