Sony DSCH300/B 20MP Digital Camera with 35X Optical Zoom - Black is rated 4.1667 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good camera I like the camera but find that it lacks some of the versatility of the H50 such as being able to set the focus length, and a sports setting. Auto focus seems to take a long time and not always focused on subject matter. I do like the greater telephoto ability. Generally a good camera but lacking some of the versatility of the H50.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DSCH300 Digital Camera A Winner When my old Sony Mavica no longer would read the discs, I started looking for a new camera. I wanted something that had the same features as the old one and had video capability. I must say this camera is all that and more, it is packed with great features. The HD video was awesome and the mic does not pick up that annoying camera hum while filming. Pictures are clear/sharp and the many setting options (including panorama) will keep you busy for days. The macro zoom takes awesome close ups. I love the fact that you can manually adjust everything (like an SLR), but has auto settings like smile detection, tracking focus and scene settings. Overall, I have been extremely pleased with this camera. The only thing I would say is that the manual does not explain all the features that the camera has, however, you can download the full manual on the website. It does not have a hot shoe for flash attachment, but the built in flash works well. It does have a tripod mounting hole on the bottom and uses (4) AA batteries, so you do not have to wait to charge up before using the camera. This is a great choice for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera! I love this camera. As far as I am concerned it is the best camera before stepping up into full DSLR cameras with interchangable lenses and all that. It is a great size, the battery life seems to be good, the zoom is awesome, and the picture quality is excellent. It has some fun features, like "smile detection" that will recognize when someone is smiling and take a picture when they do smile (not sure how this would work with more than one person in the picture, but its still cool). The video recording quality is excellent, much better than I had anticipated that I would get. I would definitely recommend this camera to a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Fun Fun! This is a fun camera because of the extended zoom and some cool effects. The picture quality is inconsistent. I have gotten some unbelievable photos that rival higher end cameras, and I have gotten some really grainy photos. Maybe I have to work with it more. I wish you could post sample photos on this review! Overall it is a fun camera at a great price, in store only $199.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK Camera This camera does take nice pictures, however I used it for a trip to yellowstone and the batteries had to be changed 3 times within 6 days. I would turn on the camera and the screen would just show white or a weird blue color and I had to turn it on and off several times to reset it. It put itself in video mode even though I had it in camera mode. So when I would take a photo it would start flashing "video" but would still take photos. I think I may have just gotten a lemon of a camera. I will be returning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I started in manual mode and tested flash response I will be looking at this camera as number one because it reminded me of the time when I actually thought about the photograph I was planning to take. More pictures is just that more review adjustment and excitement instead of more quality and fulfilment. I will be looking at using this 35x with a tripod if the motion of the hand can be overcome how much more so the wind etc. I had taken photos with thought and preparation before so now it is back to basics and fun.
