A knockoff of both High School Musical and Camp Rock, Nickelodeon's Spectacular concerns the adventures of a high-school choir fronted by a rock singer, thereby offering plenty of opportunities for hijinks, romance, and good times, all scored to blaring power pop. Musically, this does play like a synthesis of Disney's two tween flicks, channeling the theatricality of HSM into the pop songs of Camp Rock.
