STŌK™ Smoker/Infuser Insert is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from 70/30 Pro/Con The insert removal tool is not included, which made inserting and removing the smoker challenging. Grill space was limited, so cooking small meals are the only option. Smoking the meat on a low temp takes long and used all the fuel in my new propane tank. Clean up was easy, flavor was good, didn't dry out the food. Good option for tailgating, camping, condo living, etc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Limited Usage I was disappointed with STOK's smoker/infuser insert. The insert removal tool is not included, which made inserting and removing the smoker challenging. The only area to use for smoking meat is on the actual insert (about 12 inches in diameter). Even on the grill's lowest setting the flame was too high to place meat on rest of the grill, which limits what you can smoke (for example, ribs would be too big). My biggest frustration is that even on the lowest setting, the temperature with the grill closed is too hot so the meat cooks too quickly and doesn't infuse the smoky flavor very much. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use / Great Flavor I'd never used a smoker before I'd gotten this product for my GridIron Portable Gas Grill. The STOK system is really easy to use. I pulled out the round section from my grill dropped some wood chips into the smoker, set the smoker piece into the grill, placed the grilling surface onto the smoker and was ready to go. This totally changed the flavor of the items cooked. They really had a nice smoked barbecue flavor. If you have a STOK grill, I'd highly recommend getting this insert for your grill. It changes everything!!! The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use This smoker/infuser insert for our Stok Gridiron Portable has come in real handy because we like to steam vegetables with a lot of our dinners. We've already steamed corn on the cob, broccoli, and asparagus and it was a piece of cake with just some water on the bottom . The Wife and I aren't big seafood eaters so we haven't cooked any fish on it yet. Remember this is made of cast iron so it may not look like a heavy piece but it is. Just be careful after using it to make sure you have a good grip on it so you don't accidentally drop it, especially if there's water in there that was used to steam. Best to just let it cool down for a while after using it. The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice addition The smoker/infuser worked much better then expected. We used some apple wood chips that were acquired at a butcher shop and made some bacon wrapped filets and salmon. To insert it was a snap and it worked great. We were very pleased with the smokey taste the insert provided over other gas grills. I cannot wait to try other inserts such as the pizza stone and vegetable insert. Rated 4 out of 5 by from no cheating in the kitchen For just a few bucks more, this smoker insert has added to the things I can do with the STOK like steaming meats and vegetables. I am able to cook an entire meal outside (no cheating in the kitchen) using the different inserts. This purchase is a no-brainer. The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, but not designed for the Gridiron. I love the idea of the STOK Insert system, and this seems to be a pretty good product, but I have the STOK Gridiron Portable Grill, and this specific insert is not meant for such a small grill. I have managed to use it twice so far -once to smoke some barbecue chicken and once to steam vegetables- and the food turned out great both times. Its also nice that the insert only takes up a fraction of the total grill space, so you can easily cook multiple types of food simultaneously like meat and vegetables. Overall, Id definitely recommend the smoker/infuser if you have one of the larger STOK grills and want to get that smoked flavor or experiment with different flavors and cooking methods, but DONT buy it for the Gridiron because there are several major compatibility problems. First, the firebox is so shallow that the smoker has to sit on top of the heat shield instead of hanging from the grill grates, and you have to put it in sideways if you want to close the firebox completely, because the infuser plate handle holds the lid up if you try to put it in correctly. This also causes a problem when you cook meat because you are supposed to put your regular grill grate insert in over top of the smoker, but when the smoker isnt below the level of the rest of the grates, the shiny metal piece on the grate insert prevents it from sitting on top of the smoker. My only solution was to turn the insert upside down and grill my chicken on the underside of the grate, which is less than ideal for many reasons. The Gridiron is also just not designed for smoking in general, because smoking typically requires slow cooking at low temperatures for several hours. However, the combination of high BTU, a single burner system, and a shallow firebox makes it a grill that is incapable of maintaining consistent low temperatures, even on the lowest setting. I ended up having to use a rock to prop the lid open several inches, which also released much of the smoke. Additionally, it only takes 1lb propane tanks, which last about 2 hrs on the low setting, so if you were doing ribs or something else that cooks 4-6 hours, you would have to change the tank 1-2 times while cooking. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I used this product at a fourth of July cookout to separate my veggie burgers from the carnivorous. I didn't want the flavor of meat on my veggie burgers. This is a durable product because it is made of cast iron stell. It grilled my veggie burgers well and had nice flavor. Post cleanup is great because it is dishwasker safe. Nice product..
