I bought 6 of these lanterns for my new patio. The amazing technology surprised me. When I opened the packaging and saw that the light was at the top of the lantern and the bottom looked like it would be a candle, I was skeptical. The amazing thing is, they really do look like glowing candles! I am super pleased with the product!

We put up a Gazebo in our back yard that had hooks for lanterns on each four corners and a large hook for a chandelier in the center. I could not find 4 of any solar lantern they sold... except this one. While it wasn't my first choice in terms of style, I have come around. They're made out of PVC. We have a windy backyard, and these things might blow around a bit, especially since two of them probably have to be taken from their hooks to charge in the sun. They have a small LED light under the cover and a 'fake' candle, complete with Wick inside the lantern attached to the bottom. It looked like it may be overly 'fakey' when illuminated, but I was wrong. The yellow light illuminates the 'candle' at the center and unless you are standing right on top of it, it looks like a flickering candle, lit near the center. It's niot a bright light, but it's pretty. They were smaller and a little cheaper than the other, more traditional styled lanterns. The size ended up being perfect.
