The weird thing about this makeup remover is that it's supposed to be oil-free. However, you have to shake it before you use it, and you can see that something in it has separated, which makes me think that there's oil in it anyway. I hate the residue it leaves on my face - it feels nasty, and it doesn't go away, even if you try to wipe it off with a towel... you have to wash your face, which is a bummer if you were just trying to refresh your eyes! Some other oil-free makeup removers like L'Or eal and Almay don't do that, so I've found myself paying more and buying Almay. This is the first up&up product I've ever been disappointed in. I won't buy this again! HOWEVER if residue doesn't bother you, this does work well at removing makeup, it's a breeze! It gets a 1 from me overall, but a 5 for effectiveness.
I've tried neutrogena, almay, maybelline...couldn't find an eye makeup remover that removed my eye makeup AND didn't leave a slick, oily residue all over my skin. Then, I found the up and up brand. I pour it on cotton circular pads, and it takes off my eye makeup without scrubbing and without leaving my face covered in oil. Note, as the bottle says, it has to be shaken each time before you use it. That step is necessary for its effectiveness. Mind, I only wear non waterproof makeup, so I can't say its effectiveness on waterproof makeup. But this is the only one I'll buy, and thankfully it's cheaper than the brand names!
I really needed an eye makeup remover to remove my waterproof mascara and this thing works. I didn't have to rub my eyelids to get all the makeup off, which is great. The only problem with this remover is that its slightly oily. But I do wash my face with a face wash after using this product and my makeup removing wipes to make sure all of my makeup is properly removed. So that takes care of the oil that this product leaves behind.
It says on the bottle, Compare to Neutrogena brand, but there is no comparison at all. I have been using Neutrogena for years - it is soft and soothing to the touch, which is important around the eye area. This Up & Up stuff is awful - the first couple times I used it, I dipped in my cotton swab and I could barely tell it was wet with product. I dipped again, and it still felt dry and abrasive across my eyelids. It doesn't immediately remove any eye makeup residue, like Neutrogena does. It' s like I have to scrub - making the whole experience even more abrasive and irritating. I bought this product to save a dollar or so, but this is no value at all.
I really like this remover, it does its job and is good for the price -- 5.5 oz at about [$], which you definitely can't get with any of its competitor brands. However, this remover is, as others have pointed out, rather oily and does leave an oily residue behind. I have no problems with this as I have very dry skin so it moisturizes my eye area. It also does not irritate my eyes, which is a pretty big deal as I use it to get my waterproof mascara off. However, it may irritate yours if you are sensitive. So, this is not for those with oily skin or sensitive eyes.
It works, but it's so oily...really don't like it..
The texture is an oil feel, i would not recommend this. Also after your done wiping your makeup on you have to finish wiping the oil off, and it doesn't even do a good job taking the makeup off.
I have used other products of similar nature where you shake the bottle to mix and is meant for removing waterproof eye makeup.It felt like a oily film is left on my eyelids after using this product. I end up wiping the remaining film with tissue or my face towel. This is not one of my favorite products but it does the job at a minimum.
I was extremely disappointed by this eye makeup remover. I wear only mascara, and I felt like I had to scrub my eyes in order to get it off. And even after scrubbing, there was a bunch left on my eyelashes, particularly the lower ones. Prior to using this, I was using the [...] eye makeup remover - I plan to toss this bottle and go back to using that!

I bought the eye makeup remover liquid because it said that it was comparable to Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup remover, knowing Neutrogena is for sensitive skin. The first time I used it, my eyelids swelled up especially in the inner part. The eye lid was red and bacame scalely from the redness. . The puffiness and soreness remained for at least two weeks. After it was gone, I said I'm going to try just that to see if it happens again without using anything else on my eyes. The morning a fter I used it, I woke up with both eyes puffy, especially in the inner part, my eyelids were red and sore and the redness and soreness went under one eye down to the top of my check bone. I couldn't go to work that way and had to go to the doctor to get Prednisone. I know each person has different sensitivity to different things, but I thought I should share this with anyone who might be thinking of buying the producr.
