Scotland's towns and cities are packed with historical and scenic interest, and all of them have wonderful stories to tell. Well-known outdoors writer Roger Smith has gathered a bumper collection of urban walks covering Glasgow and the West into a book of interest to everyone in the area. Many of these walks are based on the recent weekly series Roger wrote for The Herald, but in each case the walks have been thoroughly revised, updated and expanded. Each walk has a detailed map and is illustrated in colour. The book covers routes in many areas of Glasgow, including the bustling Merchant City, the vibrant West End and the tranquil Queen's Park, as well as in towns as diverse as Ayr, Biggar, Irvine, Rothesay and Dumfries.
