Badtzmaru714 Great basic+ monitor - Idk why there are some bad reviews for this. There are much more expensive cameras out there which may be better, but this one is great for the price point. I had no problems connecting or installing the camera. I used the included wall mount then used the camera's tilt feature on the remote screen to get the best angle/view. The image on the remote screen is clear in both night and day modes. I like the ability to zoom in to any area with the remote screen. I really don't need this feature, but it's cool. The motion, sound, low battery, and Wi-Fi connection alerts are pretty loud, so i immediately turned those off. I don't need to wake up every time my baby moves in her crib. I turned the sensitivity off for the motion and way down for the sound sensitivity, as it otherwise picked up everything in the hallway. I also turned the volume on the remote screen way down because I'm a very light sleeper and I don't need her crying blasting at me to wake me up. There is a very slight delay in the sound on the remote vs in real-time. Not long of a delay, but it's more like how an echo would be. Watching the remote screen, the video isn't choppy. I think most people's complaints about this are due to their personal internet connection. I have fiber-optic internet, so maybe that's why I have not had any problems with this. The remote screen has some fun (and practical) nightlight color options and the ability to play music. Both have timers that can be set. There is an option to talk through the remote screen to the room. I suspect i will use this feature when my baby is a bit older. The remote screen is portable and can run off battery if needed. You do not need a Wi-Fi connection for this to work, either. If your power or internet goes out, you can still monitor your baby. If i could upgrade this, I would add the ability for the remote screen to automatically change from night mode to day mode and for the nightlight to have a light sensor for turning on/off based on the room lighting. Other than that, i am pleasantly satisfied with the screen size, picture quality, and the features that are included. Oh, and I like that you can add more cameras and use the same remote screen. I may do this in the future. As a reminder, Vtech does make more expensive models for those of you who would like more out of a baby monitor. As for this model, it is just what I was looking for and is worth the price (granted, i did buy this on sale, but would have bought it at full price).
