Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real eye opener I had heard about this book, picked it up a few times, but then decided to buy it. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It makes so much sense and there are studies listed to back it all up. So hard to believe that wheat is such a culprit in the blood sugar/insulin problem. It can be worse to eat bread over candy! Yes, wheat does elevate your sugar, causing the whole insulin cycle and storing of fat in your body. LOW carb is the answer, not low fat. Read it and wake up! There is so much more in the book besides that, admittedly I didn't really grasp the AGE factor stuff, but I kind of don't have to in order to realize wheat is not good. 10000 years ago wheat was okay, not the wheat of today, you couldn't make pizza's out of the ancient wheat, but we have tinkered with its genetic code, taking it from 14 chromosones to 42 and now it messes with our internal systems in so many ways. Now buy it :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wheat Belly is a Must Read! If there is one book you read this year, I would highly recommend reading this one. It may be tough to read at times due to Davis being a doctor and using medical terminology, but the content is worth the extra time it takes to read through it. What an eye-opener. He is not some fringe nut using theory, but a trained and active cardiologist who has gone deep into the research of this subject and has scientific evidence to support his claim that we need to eliminate wheat from our bodies if we want to be healthy. He includes numerous case studies, both from others and first-hand. Just based on eliminating wheat from my diet over the past week, I have already lost 5 pounds. And that is while still drinking unhealthy soft drinks and large energy drinks. Once I cut those out, I'm guessing the next 5 will drop off within a few days. For your health and the health of your family and friends, please read this!
